2016 has seen some killer trailers. Each of them have been the perfect tease to the actual release. They doubled our excitement and made us impatient for the movie. Right from gangsta dramas to hardcore actioners to biopics to thrillers, it’s been trailers of every kind. And now YouTube has come out with its results of the top trending videos, music videos and Bollywood trailers of 2016! And guess which movie has topped the charts? It’s Rajinikanth‘s gangsta Drama – Kabali! Yes, based on parameters such as – likes, comments, time spent on the trailer, comments, sharing, Thalaiva rules this year! We aren’t a bit surprised really. Remember the furor it had created when it came out? The style, attitude, dialogues and of course Rajinikanth killed it! It was definitely the most talked about movie this year, apart from the trending trailer as well.

2.Dangal  36 million views 
It’s a biopic based on wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita. It’s about a father teaching his daughters wrestling and how one of them goes on to the gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The trailers is inspiring, dramatic and convincing all the same time. Aamir Khan as usual has hit bulls-eye yet again. Also, the background score elevates the story and is in complete sync with the trailer. The movie will release on December 23rd.
3. Sultan  34 million views 
This movie showed a side to Salman Khan we had never known. It’s a wrestlers who tries to regain his fame and glory after having a setback in his life. Salman Khan’s raw act and toned physique made it convincing and genuine. The movie also starred Anushka Sharma, who kicked ass as Arafa! This movie was a total surprise package.
4. M.S.Dhoni – The Untold Story 26 million views 
Undoubtedly, one of the best biopics so far. As the movie suggests, it’s based on the life of the star Cricketer – MS Dhoni. Sushant Singh Rajput was so convincing in his act, you would think it was the cricketer. The movie was a perfect commercial entertainer and managed to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
5 Shivaay 29 million views
It’s a hardcore action movie that also explored the gentle relationship between a father and son. The cinematography of this film was to die for! It would simply take your breath away! This is also the second movie directed by Ajay Devgn. Set in Bulgaria, get ready for some stunning shots.
6. Befikre
Beautiful, bold and intense – That’s how we would describe the Befikre trailer. It also has the maximum number of kisses. The Ranveer-Vaani chemistry is new, fresh and cheeky. Set in the beautiful city of Paris, get ready to re-discover love, The Aditya Chopra way. The movie releases today.
7 Ae Dil Hain Mushkil – 15 million views
starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai and Fawad Khan, the movie already had everyone’s attention owing to its heavy duty starcast. When it comes to a Karan Johar, expect the packaging to be so good that you feel like it’s a mini movie before the movie. The soulful, stirring music broughtout  the pain, love, heart-break beautifully.
8 Fan – 24 million 
Shah Rukh Khan in a double role – as a star and his fan! He took experimenting to another level with this movie. Racy, dark and fast-paced would best describe the Fan trailer. Of course, the biggest highlight was seeing twice of Shah Rukh Khan.
Baaghi .4 million views 
An out and out action movie that showed off Tiger Shroff’s action skills. Nobody else could have pulled off this role. Another big plus was Shraddha Kapoor-Tiger Shroff’s innocent yet sizzling chemistry.
Dishoom 20 million views 
Starring two cops – one serious and broody in the form of John Abraham, the other goofy and wacky in the form of Varun Dhawan. A star cricketer was kidnapped and it was their job to get him back for an important match. An actioner laced with comedy, That’s what we call Dishoom!
