Mohenjo Daro actress Pooja Hegde rejects a role opposite Sooraj Pancholi because he is not a big star?
Not very often do you hear a non star kid signing a big movie that too with a superstar like Hrithik Roshan. But Pooja Hegde, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Hrithik in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro was lucky. But all this seems to have gotten into her head. The film might have miserably tanked at the box-office but Pooja doesn’t seem to have got in terms with the failure. Atleast that’s what her recent choice suggests. According to a report in SpotBoye, the actress recently turned down a lead role opposite Sooraj Pancholi in Allah Ke Banday, director Faruk Kabir’s next stating Sooraj was not a big enough star for her to work with! Well isn’t this is too much for a newbie, no?
We understand that Sooraj’s first film Hero did not leave a mark at the box-office and he garnered a lot of negative publicity because of his involvement in ex-girlfriend Jiah Khan’s death but rejecting a role opposite him because he is not an A-lister is a tad bit too unfair on Pooja’s side considering she herself hasn’t tasted success yet.
Reports suggest that Pooja is all set to return to Tollywood with Allu Arjun for Harish Shankar’s DJ – Duvvada Jagannadham. According to reports in a leading daily, here’s what a source from a film unit revealed,””Pooja has been finalized as the leading lady for DJ. She plays a contemporary girl in this romantic drama and her role will appeal to all sections of the audience.” This will be the gorgeous actress’ third film after Mukunda and Oka Laila Kosam. The film is reportedly being bank rolled by Dil Raju who reunited with Allu Arjun after a while.
For those who don’t know, Pooja might be a newcomer in Bollywood but she began her acting career long back. Pooja was second runner up in 2010, Miss India Universe pageant. She made her film debut in South with Mysskin’s Tamil superhero film Mugamoodi back in 2012.
