Aamir Khan’s Dangal to continue having a smooth run at the box office for the coming week
Since there are no big releases until OK Jaanu releases in January 2017, Dangal seems to have smooth run at the box office.
Aamir Khan’s much awaited film Dangal has hit the movie screens and it has already become a rage! The
film has turned out to be one of the best performances by Aamir. Well,
he isn’t called Mr Perfectionist just like that! Not just Aamir but also
Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra, who play Geeta and Babita, his
daughters in the movie, has given a phenomenal performance. Film maker
Nitesh Tiwari’s last two films Bhootnath Returns and Chillar Party
didn’t really do seemingly well at the box office and neither did it win
praise from the critics. But Dangal
is definitely joining the bandwagon. He has managed the create a
masterpiece with Dangal and the viewers just cannot stop raving about
it.
As we had predicted the film collected around Rs 30 crore at the box office on the first day of its release which is a pretty good start. And now over the weekend it has minted around Rs 35 crore. Clearly, there is no stopping to Dangal. But will the film manage to break Sultan’s records? The Salman Khan starrer is the top grosser of this year and no film has managed to beat its records? Considering that there are no big films releasing until January 2017 when Sidharth Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor’s OK jaanu will release on January 13, Dangal will have a smooth run at the ticket window.
For all those who don’t know, Dangal is a biopic on Mahavir Singh Phogat and his daughters. The Phogat sisters are one of the best women wrestlers our country has ever had and there is absolutely no denying that. Aamir plays the patriarch of the family Mahavir Phogat who wanted his sons to fulfill his dream of becoming a champion wrestler. But when he gets blessed with only daughters, he is almost left heartbroken. That’s when something happens and he realises that his daughters are no less. Since then, his mission in life was to turn his daughters into wrestlers that not only the country but the world can be proud of. The premise of the story is so inspirational it will immediately make you excited about the film. A country like India needs more such films as female foeticide is still the biggest social evil.
