Jennifer Winget talks EXCUSIVELY to Bollywood Life about her Christmas plans and they will up your festive spirit a few levels
Jennifer Winget is heading to the tropical paradise of Goa for this X’mas. This is her first Christmas in her new home and she is super excited. Beyhadh’s Maya has been working really hard for her show and just returned from an exciting schedule in Mauritius. The special someone going with her is Breezer, her cute Labrador. She says, “His biggest gift is that he is going to spend time with me. I have been so busy that we hardly get to spend time together at home. He is going to be in Goa, enjoying dips in the swimming pool and having fun.” Jennifer has bought a new place in Goa and is going two days early to plan out a Christmas get-together with a few close friends.
Elaborating on her X’mas plans, Jennifer said, “The idea is to celebrate the festival at my new home. I have taken a few days off. It will be celebrating Christmas in Goa and chilling as well. I have never been in Goa during X’mas as it is too crowded but this year is different. Back home, it is all about going to the church and spending time with family. We have a big lunch and friends and family come over throughout the day. We hardly get to meet each other given our schedules but that day is reserved for loved ones. It is all about food, presents and family bonding.”
So, does Jennifer plan to have a proper X’mas bash in Goa with all the song and dance? “See, this is my first X’mas there. We have decided to do a dinner by the beach. There are a few things in mind, which is why I am going two days in advance to plan everything out. I don’t know if we will be singing, I am definitely not singing but we’ll make merry,” says the actress. Beyhadh’s Maya also has fond memories of the donuts made by her grandmother during Christmas. “They are my all time favourite. My mom also makes them but my hers were better. I cannot tell my mom that (laughs out loud). I want to buy everything new for my home. I will buy the tree and all the decor. My friends and I plan to have fun decorating my place,” says Jennifer.
The actress has been on a diet for Beyhadh because she wants to look her best on the show. Jennifer also reveals that she is not a kitchen person at all, when we asked her if she plans to bake something. “I hate cooking. Everything will be bought. I am not going to the kitchen at all. I cannot even boil an egg,” she says laughing uproariously.
When we asked her about Santa Claus, the actress narrated a very sweet incident. “This happened last year. I was celebrating Christmas with a few friends at my place. I told dad and mom to come over after the Church service. Dad landed up at my doorstep dressed as Santa Claus. I was like Dad I am not a kid anymore. He got chocolates for all my friends. It was the sweetest thing to do in the world at that time,” says the actress.
Jennifer also shared her favourite Christmas memory with us. She said, “As youngsters, we would sing carols in the church during X’mas. The preparations would start from December 1. We would go to the Church every evening to practise. The atmosphere was totally different. Then, a week prior to the festival, we would go to the homes of every member to rehearse. That feeling was truly special and will never come back.”
