Mystery around Kangana Ranaut being signed for Himachal Tourism continues

Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut is unsure whether she will be named the brand ambassador to promote Himachal Pradesh tourism or not. Kangana hails from the hill state and there has been a buzz around her refusal to sign an agreement. However, her father denies any wrongdoing.Two days after State Tourism Development Board Vice Chairman Vijai Singh Mankotia slammed the bureaucracy for deliberately scuttling the proposal mooted by him to appoint Kangana as the state’s brand ambassador, another board member on Saturday slammed the actress for demanding a huge amount.
“After negotiations, Kangana Ranaut said that she will charge Rs.45 lakh per day and all the other expenditure, including board and lodging for the entire unit, and cost of shooting will be borne by the government,” member S.P. Katyal said in a statement. “Therefore, it was costing more than Rs 2 crore for her single appearance. Even after this huge expenditure, the deliverables were not clear as to how many more tourists will arrive in the state after she promotes it,” he said. Upset over the ongoing developments, Kangana’s father Amardeep Singh Ranaut blamed the state government over flip-flops. Katyal said since Himachal Pradesh is a well established tourist destination, the domestic tourist inflow is already touching 2 crore per year and infrastructure is to be provided to house them.
On the other hand, Vice Chairman Mankotia said that despite several rounds of talks with Kangana in Mumbai, the proposal to sign an agreement with her was deliberately delayed by the bureaucracy. The issue turned hot on October 27 when Mankotia, after the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board meeting that was presided over by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here, told the media “the proposal to sign an agreement awaited government’s nod for over one and half years and now it has died its natural death”. He lamented the bureaucracy by saying, “she too was very keen to popularize her home state, but probably the bureaucracy was not too keen on it”.
Contrary to Mankotia’s assertions, Katyal said when Kangana was approached for being brand ambassador, first of all she never responded. He said that after Mankotia’s efforts, she agreed to talk on the issue. And even after this, she took more than six months for the officials to meet her. Then finally when a meeting was arranged she was taking the department and the government for a ride.
“She asked a huge amount of money for her appearance for the tourism department,” he said. “She was not insulted in any way, rather she inflicted insult on the people of the state by asking for huge money to promote the interests of the state,” Katyal said in a signed statement. Kangana’s father Amardeep told IANS over phone that two state tourism department officials met her in Mumbai almost nine months back to fix the shooting schedule and the expenditure.”After the first meeting, there was no communication from the state. I, in fact, approached the state on the insistence of my daughter as she had to fix her schedule for the state,” he said.

“She, in fact, demanded nominal charges to become the brand ambassador. Even if they (the state) had no funds, they can inform Kangana in this regard. Moreover, initially when her name was announced she was not taken into confidence,” said Amardeep, who is settled at Bhambla village near Hamirpur town, some 200 km from state capital Shimla. “My daughter is born and brought up in Himachal Pradesh and she herself is its brand ambassador,” the aggrieved father said. Currently, Kangana is busy in shooting director Hansal Mehta’s “Simran” in the US, he added.

Yuvraj Singh was back to his best as he smashed his way to an unbeaten 179 on the 3^rd day of the 4^th round of fixtures of the Ranji trophy.  Despite Yuvraj’s 179, Manan Vohra was the star of the innings as he scored a double hundred. The current partnership between Yuvraj and Vohra is 224 runs.
As Punjab finished the day with 452 runs on the board, they are only 77 runs behind Baroda’s total.
With the final day of play set to take place tomorrow, Punjab will be looking to get a healthy lead against their opponents and acquire the vital point from the game.

Ranji Trophy 2016-17: Yuvraj Singh hits century and Manan Vohra's double ton power Punjab against Baroda

At the close of play on the third and final day, Punjab trailed Baroda by 77 runs with eight wickets remaining in the 1st innings.

New Delhi: Out-of-favour India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh slammed an unbeaten 179 and opener Manan Vohra remained not out on 201, as Punjab made a strong reply to post 452 for two in their Group A Ranji Trophy match against Baroda here today.
Baroda were all out for 529 in their first innings at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
Vohra scored his runs off 355 balls with the help of 17 boundaries and two sixes.
Skipper Yuvraj faced 253 balls and found the fence 23 times during his knock.
The Yuvraj-Vohra duo shared an unbroken partnership of 314 runs for the third wicket to help Punjab close in on Baroda's huge total.
The left-right combo scored runs at almost fours runs per over after joining forces at 138 for two in the innings' 41st over.
Punjab were overnight 121/1 with Vohra and Uday Kaul batting on 67 and 33 respectively.
At the close of play on the third and final day, Punjab trailed Baroda by 77 runs with eight wickets remaining in the 1st innings.
On the final day tomorrow, Punjab would look to take the first innings lead and collect three points from the game.

Ranbir Kapoor was one who asked his Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director to not invite Katrina Kaif for the movie's screening.

So while Karan Johar’s much awaited release Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has hit the screens already, stars like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Guari Khan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra were the fortunate ones to see it a day prior. Yes we know they all are Karan’s favourite but if you notice there was someone special who was missing from all these screenings. Yes she was none other than Baar Baar Dekho actress Katrina Kaif. Karan and Kat are extremely fond of each other and we are sure he wanted the actress to see his movie with all his other industry friends. So what was the reason behind her disappearance? We earlier thought she might have avoided seeing it since it stars her ex beau Ranbir Kapoor but the reality was a bit different.
As per reports in DNA, an insider told them, “Ranbir told his director not to invite her as it would make the atmosphere uncomfartable.” So what was Kat’s reaction after she heard this? The same source reveals that, ” When Katrina heard about this, she was naturally a bit upset but decided to keep the peace. She’s over him and she just wants their film Jagga Jasoos to release next year.” Ouch! This definitely hurts.
Just few days back we told you guys about the cordial relationship shared between Ranbir and Katrina recently while they were shooting for the poster shoot of Jagga Jassos. These ex lovers were extremely funny and enjoying eaqch other’s company. There was no animosity or awkwardness between the stars and the onlookers actually wondered if these two are still in a relationship! We were definitely happy reading this news and assumed that Ranbir and Kat are one of those matured couples who don’t like mixing personal and professional lives. So when everything was so good what went wrong that RK refused to invite Kat for his movie’s screening?

Not to forget it was Ranbir who said in an interview with Rajeev Masand that, Katrina was the most inspirational person in his life after his parents. Meet the worst dressed celebs of the week.

I’m back again this week with my list of worst dressed celebrities. I know by now that fans might be hating me like crazy but hey, isn’t it all for you guys?! Anyway, like every year, this week too I bring a list of bad outfits that the said celebs need to execute outta their wardrobes, like ASAP! I am in for a big surprise though, I must admit. I have one name I never thought would make it to my worst dressed list, courtesy how spotless her outings have been but damn, she failed to impress me and BollywoodLife with her ensemble. I want to break the suspense right here but I also want to perhaps tease a little bit. Ah what the hell, it’s already in the headline of this article. I’ll stop the chase and go straight to our list which might give you some shock and a lot of frowns! Scroll below and check them out.
Priyanka Chopra

I know right! You, Miss Chopra are our biggest shock in this week’s worst dressed celeb list! So I’m used to PeeCee’s fashionable outfits. Sometimes her outing may not be that striking or swoonworthy but the panache and confidence she carries it with, you’d be a fool to not like it. Yet, this particular look she chose for InStyle awards was so not in style! My biggest two concerns with the look was one, the teal blue sleeve and two, the hair. The sleeve hanging by was quite atrocious. Didn’t like it one bit. You can see how haphazardly it has been stitched with a terrible fitting. The hair, oh, I didn’t like it one bit. The whole wet look is so not flattering an otherwise hot PeeCee.
Anushka Sharma

Not very far behind we have Miss Sharma who again, has worn a very weird and ill-fitted outfit for MAMI. The maroon skirt was pure bliss to look at but the crop top she wore along with it was oh-so-bad! Again, I’m very disappointed with the sleeves here. It could’ve been a little more classier had it not been so funky-gone-wrong. Plus, a separate portion of the skirt’s fabric was hanging out. What was that about? Don’t even get me started with the shoes she had paired with this ensemble. Overall, the look was pieces put together for a puzzle but all the pieces were of different jigsaws! Sorry to say, but that’s what I thought of this look.
Shraddha Kapoor

Even my list is tired of seeing Kapoor’s name on it every single week. However, every week she wears something quite synonymous to disastrous that makes me put her name here. Why on earth would you want to wear that terrible sheer outfit, Shraddha? The whole idea behind this outfit itself is so damn bad that the minute you see it, not hot but wha’? (with a frown) passes one’s heads! And she wore that for the trailer launch of her film, Rock On 2! The black mesh dress falls flat on the actress as she could’ve shown a lot more creativity with respect to wearing funky skirts or a sexier bra but this look is dull, boring and quite bad.
Bipasha Basu

God save us all! Looking ethereal might’ve been Bips’ goal but she definitely chose the wrong outfit for the festivity. Do I even have to say what’s not hot in this outfit? Because I believe the pic itself speaks volumes of what’s wrong with the ensemble. The three layered piece of clothing stitched together to make it look fashionable was probably not the right thing to do by the designer. What’s more wrong is Bipasha wearing it despite seeing how bad the outfit is! That’s an error in judgement and I really really hope this Diwali brings new style to her wardrobe!
