Dangal box office collection day 1: Aamir Khan’s film to collect Rs 30 crore at the domestic market
Aamir Khan's Dangal will collect Rs 30 crore on day 1 after a fabulous start at the domestic box office...
Aamir Khan‘s Dangal has released and looks like it has already set the box office on fire. The movie started off with an occupancy of 60-70 per cent in the early morning shows, which it has maintained till the afternoon shows kicked in. We expect the film to grow and touch an occupancy of 80-90 per cent by tonight. With this spurt in growth, Dangal will surely post a HUGE number at the domestic box office on day 1. According to us, Aamir Khan’s Dangal should collect Rs 30 crore on the first day. Our trade expert – Amul Vikas Mohan (Editor of Super Cinema) agrees too.
Amul had revealed to us earlier, “The film should collect around Rs 30 crore on the first day of its release.” Talking about the phenomenal start on day 1, Amul said, “It (Dangal) has opened to about 60 per cent occupancy. The occupancy in Gujarat and Saurashtra is low, but it is strong in the North. The word of mouth publicity is good. However, I genuinely feel the collection will be slightly lower than that of Sultan.”
At the theatres, people have been praising the performances of Aamir and the Dangal girls. The audience have left the theatre in awe of the movie and cannot stop raving about it. The wrestling scenes, the father-daughter relationship and the powerful message that the film gives out, is what everyone is talking about on social media.
The good word of mouth publicity and the fantastic reviews will help the movie grow over the weekend. And with a Rs 30 crore collection on day 1, we expect the film to touch the Rs 80-90 crore mark by the end of the first weekend. This is way lower than the first weekend collections of Salman Khan‘s Sultan, which had collected Rs 180.36 crore. However, in its lifetime run Dangal can quite easily beat Sultan. In fact, according to our predictions, Aamir Khan’s film can easily touch the Rs 400 crore mark.
