So the first trailer of Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood debut, Baywatch has landed, and as expected it was a raunchy sex comedy that spoofed the original Baywatch series. Dwayne Johnson, of course, was the face of the movie as well as the trailer, and it was his hilarious equation with High School Musical fame Zac Efron. Then we get to see Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach and Ilfenesh Hadera in various beachwear, with Kelly and Ilfenesh doing the iconic Baywatch run. And then after a few more slapstick antics from the gang, we finally see Priyanka Chopra and her deep cut dress making a second long cameo, before she disappears from the trailer.
Naturally some of her fans were not too happy with their diva not getting the required screentime in the trailer. Some of them even vented their ire on Twitter….

Guys, I know you must be quite excited when you heard that Baywatch trailer was coming today, and you were dying to see Priyanka Chopra slaying it in the trailer, so the second-long appearance must be disappointing. But please do not lose hope, guys. The quantity doesn’t matter, the quality does. And just because Priyanka is hardly there in the trailer, doesn’t mean that she will do the same in the movie as well. Here are five reason why
Hollywood works differently from Bollywood
Frankly, even I had expected the same duration for her in the first trailer. Hollywood doesn’t work the same way as Bollywood does. Priyanka Chopra is a huge star in Bollywood, but in the West, she is a well known face, thanks to her Quantico role and her appearances on late night shows and awards ceremonies, who is making her debut in the movie. The makers of Baywatch would like to make the first trailer pander more to the Western audience and therefore gave more prominence to Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, because of their immense popularity. This is so that the viewers there would connect with the movie with the first trailer itself.
Too much of Priyanka can ruin the plot in the trailer itself
So now you would ask why Deepika had more footage than Priyanka in the first trailer of her Hollywood debut, xXx: Return of Xander Cage. Deepika plays the heroine of the movie, who is the on and off love interest of Xander Cage, played by Vin Diesel, so the trailer played on that relationship accordingly. Priyanka Chopra, meanwhile, plays the main antagonist in Baywatch, and her character is the catalyst in the movie’s plot. So the makers don’t want to spoil the role of the villain much, which make sense unless the character is Joker.
That one sec actually says it all
Above all, even if she is there for just a second in the trailer, you have to see what she accomplishes in that very short duration. In one second, she exudes so much confidence, swag and dollops of bitchiness (just check that expression), that you know that this is one lady that you don’t wanna mess with. And she has that frame entirely for herself. And did I mention she never looked so hot before?

The Rock has a plan, you better believe it!

Like I said before, this is just an introductory trailer. Hollywood doesn’t stick to just one, when ti comes to blockbusters, so expect a couple more as the movie nears the release date. We are sure that Priyanka will feature more in them. Perhaps that’s the plan The Rock was tweeting about!
