Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma to walk for Manish Malhotra at Mijwan 2017
Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma has agreed to walk for Manish Malhotra at the upcoming Mijwan 2017, that's organised by Shabana Azmi's NGO Mijwan Welfare Society.
It’s confirmed! Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma has agreed to walk for Manish Malhotra at the upcoming Mijwan 2017. Both
are very close friends of the celebrity fashion designer and this could
also be a promotional strategy for their upcoming movie, that’s
directed by Imtiaz Ali. When we learnt that Manish Malhotra will return
to Mijwan for the sixth time, we thought it would be Kangana Ranaut,
Kareena Kapoor Khan or Alia Bhatt, who would be the showstopper for him,
so the inclusion of Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma is quite a
surprise. It will also be very cool to see Shah Rukh Khan walk the ramp,
something that he rarely does these days, and that’s keeping us quite
excited for Mijwan 2016.
Earlier, Manish had spoken to the media about his designs to be used for the event. He said, “I feel proud to generate steady work for the craftsmen all through the year. Later, they work on their creations and send it to the designer which is then modified with embellishments and cutwork. This year’s collection comprises of more contemporary gowns, fringe tops in summer fabrics of net, chiffon and cotton.”
Mijwan, that will start in a few days, is a fashion event organised by Shabana Azmi’s NGO Mijwan Welfare Society, making it different from shows like Lakme Fashion Week, since there is a social initiative attached to it. The show primarily serves as a fundraiser for the empowerment and education of girl child. Previously many B-town celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Farhan Akhtar, Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor have walked the ramp for Mijwan to support the cause. So we are super proud that Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma are helping the NGO and Manish Malhotra with the cause this year.
