Priyanka Chopra’s Baywatch release date pushed to May 26, 2017, will now clash with this HUGE Johnny Depp movie

Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone’s Hollywood debuts is one of the reasons we, as movie buffs, are so excited about 2017. Deepika Padukone will arrive with her xXx: Return of Xander Cage in January itself. The movie brings back Vin Diesel into the franchise, and is directed by DJ Caruso. On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood debut, Baywatch will now see its scheduled release date postponed by a week. It will now release on May 26, 2017 instead of the original May 19, 2017 release date.
It is interesting to note that the new release date will make Baywatch clash with a huge movie in the form of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men tell No Tales, that’s releasing on the same date. As you are very well aware, Pirates of the Caribbean series is one of the biggest blockbusters of Hollywood. The first movie, Curse of the Black Pearl, was loved by both the critics and the masses, and even got its star Johnny Depp, who plays the iconic pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, an Academy Award nomination. Though the rest of the movies of the franchise failed to impress the critics, they still hit it big at the box office. The fifth movie will again bring Jack Sparrow in the mix where he is going against the undead Capitán Salazar, played by Oscar winner Javier Bardem, this time.
While this looks like huge clash, one thing makers of Baywatch can console themselves is that they have Dwayne Johnson as the lead, and he is easily the most in-demand Hollywood star with a worldwide fan following. There is also the fact that Baywatch would have clashed with four movies on its original scheduled date, Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, the Diary of the Wimpy Kid sequel, and the horror flick Annabelle 2, as well as The Nut Job 2.
Baywatch also stars Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach.
