Kritika Kamra promises to floor us completely as princess Chandrakanta from the upcoming show on Life Ok - view pics!
After a break of nearly a year and a half, Kritika Kamra is all set to surprise us as princess Chandrakanta
on her show, Chandrakanta – Prem aur Paheli on Life Ok. She plays the
drop dead gorgeous princess on the show, which is a TV adaptation of
Devaki Nandan Khatri’s famous novel. Bollywood Life got its hands on
some images of the looks portrayed by the actress and we are totally
floored. Fashion designer Neerusha Nikhat who has won accolades for her
work on shows like The Adventures of Hatim, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat
and Suryaputra Karn is in charge of creating Kritika’s look
for the show. Kritika looks very sexy and elegant as Princess
Chandrakanta in the lehengas, dhoti sarees, bustiers and gowns, which
have a modern vibe to them. We cannot ignore the Grecian influence in
some of the outfits. A lot of effort have been taken for the jewellery
that includes head-gears, hand harnesses, studded footwear and armlets.
The focus is more on statement pieces. It is elaborate but contemporary.
This look is very different from the Amrapali influenced clothes worn by Shikha Swaroop 20 years ago. Bright hues of turquoise blue, hot pink and golden have been replaced by ivory white, lavender and rose gold. They are elaborate but not frilly. Kritika, who has taken care to look radiant as a princess is simply mesmerizing in the elaborate outfits. Neerusha has been working on the look for the past three months and has designed almost 10 looks for Kritika. The show is been produced by Nikkhil Sinha who has conceptualised the fantasy drama. He has earlier made Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev and Siya Ke Ram.
Kritika hails from Meerut and made her debut with Yahan Ke Hum Sikander with Ravi Dubey . She shot to fame with Kitni Mohabbat Hai with Karan Kundra. The Ekta Kapoor show was a bitter sweet love story where she played Aarohi. The show had two seasons and made Kritika a popular TV star. She later did a couple of shows with Sony TV, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge where she played a doctor and Reporters with Rajeev Khandelwal. Kritika took part in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 too.
Fantasy dramas are ruling TV right now with Naagin 2 enjoying undisputed popularity. Chandrakanta that is coming on Life Ok in March will have tough competition.
