Jolly LLB 2 trailer: This Akshay Kumar starrer is a perfect blend of goofiness and hard hitting cinema
All that we gotta say it is Akshay Kumar has nailed it once again.
After a successful 2016, Akshay Kumar will be back on the big screen with a sequel to much loved surprise hit of 2013; Jolly LLB. The
film won two National awards and starred Arshad Warsi in the titular
role. This time, the title role is played by Akshay Kumar and the makers
had a huge responsibility to go one notch higher on the previous one.
And if one goes by the trailer, then Subhash Kapoor, the director of
both the films has managed to do what many couldn’t. He has taken the
sequel higher by leaps and bounds. The sequel also stars Huma Qureshi,
Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla who was also a part of the prequel.
Let’s find out, what we liked and what we didn’t in the trailer:
# What’s hot
The setting, the performances, the witty as well as hard-hitting dialogues, the emotions and the drama that unfolds in the trailer. The film marks Akshay Kumar’s entry in the Rajkumar Hirani territory. The feel and the way story unfolds is very similar to what we saw in Jolly LLB and yet it is different due to the way Subhash Kapoor handles the plot. If Jagdish Tyagi (Jolly) from the first part was the dog who barked, Jagdishwar Mishra (Jolly) from this one is the dog that bites and how. The film is more hard hitting than the previous one and just like the previous one, this one too is inspired by true events. The only difference is the previous one was based only on one particular case, this one draws its inspiration from many, as the director, Subhash Kapoor, himself revealed to me after the trailer screening. One thing that I liked the most about the trailer was the fact that, there was no place for melodrama, especially in a courtroom, which is portrayed in Bollywood a lot. But just like Jolly LLB, Jolly LLB 2 too gives it a realistic touch, and that could be and should be credited to the presence of Saurabh Shukla (he won National award for the same role in previous one).
# What’s not
To be honest I had my inhibitions when I learned about Arshad Warsi not returning for the sequel but this Jolly is different from that one and kudos to director Subhash Kapoor for that. There is nothing in the trailer I didn’t like. Going just by the trailer, this one’s gonna be another milestone in Akshay Kumar’s career.
Overall, the trailer has everything going in its favour. The film is going to be one hell of courtroom drama. Akshay Kumar has nailed it once again.
