Anushka Sharma, who will be seen next in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, is one of the most sought after actresses in Bollywood. She was a part of Bollywood’s biggest grosser, PK, and this year’s biggest hit, Sultan, as well. She is also one of the rare actresses in Bollywood to have worked with all the three Khans, something not even Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra can claim to have done. She made her debut in 2008 with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, having the fortune to be launched by Aditya Chopra, the man who gave us Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, playing wifey to Shah Rukh Khan. It was a dream debut of course, and Anushka Sharma managed to impress the viewers with her performance, holding on well against the much experienced Shah Rukh Khan. But if things had gone as per the wishes of Aditya Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan’s best friend, Karan Johar, she would not even have been there in the film.
Yeah, you read it right. Karan Johar revealed this fact in front of Anushka Sharma during a recent interview with prominent journalist Rajeev Masand. Karan, Anushka and Ranbir Kapoor were giving out interviews to promote Ae Dil Hai Mushkil when Karan revealed this astonishing anecdote. As per the below video, Karan was not very impressed with the photos of Anushka Sharma that Aditya Chopra had shared with him, and had shared his displeasure with Adi. Though Aditya Chopra proceeded ahead with the casting of Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar felt that she won’t have a long career in Bollywood. He even said that he could not get rid of this feeling even when he met her on the first day of the shoot, where she was attired in the bridal outfit. Anushka Sharma revealed that she actually found him very sweet, but had no clue as to what was going on in his mind then.
