Ae Dil Hai Mushkil controversy: Not Karan Johar but Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis in trouble thanks to Raj Thackeray

Say wha’? This is a new development in the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – MNS row! After everything settled down for the Karan Johar film, here are some new reports on the reality of the meeting Raj Thackeray, Karan Johar and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. We just found out that the Chief Minister of Maharashtra egged the Rs. 5 crore deal. A lot of industry sources have stated that it was the CM, who brokered the deal between Thackeray and Johar. Although the minister had said that he had no role in this deal breaking, sources have revealed to News 18 that he had egged the deal, which KJo instantly agreed upon. To get out of this mess and to convince the MNS leader that the filmmaker was apologetic, they agreed upon a donation (which was later denied by the army as they didn’t want the gesture to be imposed).
The news agency tweeted out whatever they were told by their sources. It goes like this – “Fadnavis egged on Karan Johar to donate money, who was happy to donate to get out of the mess. Fadnavis brokered 5 Crore Raj-Kjo deal | It was indicated to Karan spending ‘some money’ the only way to resolve issue. Karan Johar was instantly agreeable to pay up given how bad the situation was. Karan Johar was very nervous about the release; CM was definitely pushing for the ‘donation’. CM pushed for ‘donation’ as a way to get Raj Thackeray to back off. Raj Thackeray felt some ‘gesture’ must be made to convey ‘acceptance of error’. Mukesh Bhatt also thought it was the best way to resolve the matter.” This is a compilation of the tweets shared by them. We’ve even attached the tweets below.

Basically, and sadly, to avoid all the hullabaloo around Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the CM of Maharashtra decided to step in. We believe with the festive season coming closer and overlapping with Karan Johar’s film, to resolve the matter quietly, Fadnavis had to intervene. However, former CM of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan thinks otherwise. He quoted, “CM is responsible to maintain law and order in the state. This is shocking that extortion tactics were used by MNS.” Well, every coin has two sides and while some people agree with the fact that Fadnavis had to intervene to avoid a troubled Diwali in the state, some think he didn’t have a role and that it should’ve been resolved without the minister’s attendance in the meeting. Wow. Ae Dil is not just expensive in terms of the movie but even the consequences of its making!

The meeting that was held in the weekend sparked new sorts of controversies for the politician as well as the film. While everything was resorted and a smooth release was promised, it is still sad to learn that it has been agreed upon based on a price. “I assured Fadnavis that the Producer’s Guild has decided that it will not work with Pakistani artistes in the future,” Mukesh Bhatt told reporters after the meeting.“Karan Johar has said that he will run a special slate honouring the martyrs before the start of the movie even before his late father Yash Johar’s plate. It’s a tribute from us to our soldiers,” Bhatt added. Bhatt said that Producer’s Guild will also contribute to the Army Welfare Fund. “We owe this to the Army,” he said.
