Really? Karan Johar approves Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan’s fashion outings

Karan Johar is one of the most fashionable celebs in B-town. No we really mean it. The director is not only known for making his actors look gorgeous onscreen but even off screen. There have been reports of how the director changed the outfits worn by Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan at the last moment while filming Mahi Ve from Kal Ho Naa Ho.  Later we even told you about how he made made Anushka Sharma wear her 17 kg lehenga for Channa Mereya song from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Now we know that this director is not just particular about his actors’ look in the movie but also how they look in real life.

In a candid interview with a leading daily, Karan said that, “For me being fashionable is a multi billion dollar business.” But why is the director so fetish when it comes to styling and he states, ” I am just saying there is going to be paparazzi, so get your airport look right. And if you have so much of a problem, then take the train!” The director later joked saying, “Sometimes it’s funny how the cost of your airport look is more than the cost of the tickets. Airport styling has become so popular that it is more important than where you are going or what you are doing.”
Ranbir who was shooting with the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director  had an interesting revelation about the director. He joked saying that, “While we were shooting, I have seen messages on his phone from other actors asking if they should wear this or that to the airport.” Ok! So should we assume that Karan is in fact the one who styles actors at least for their airport appearances.  Why else will the actors send him pics to approve? Even Karan has agreed that he loves to criticise anyone for their fashion hits and misses. “Sidharth, Alia and Varun get messages from me all the time, with screen grabs asking them why they have worn a certain outfit, he adds.”
So who according to him is the star to have the best taste in red carpet appearances and the answer was obvious. He said, “I really feel that there is no reason for some people to not make an effort to look good. Sometimes, people just wear things that don’t compliment them. If you are walking the red carpet, it doesn’t mean that you look like one. Power to Sonam Kapoor, she changed the whole game of red carpet in our country . Alia, too.”
