How many times have we wished and prayed for Salman Khan to do a film with Deepika Padukone? There were rumours that the actress was supposed to do Sultan
which didn’t happen. Everytime they come together on Bigg Boss, they
make us wish for their pairing in a film. During the premiere of Bigg
Boss 10 too we couldn’t shake off this feeling. But then we realised
Deepika was part of a Salman Khan film but was not paired opposite him.
Stunned? We can understand. Not many saw that film which was a Diwali
release, BTW. Did you get it? No? Fine, we will tell you. It was Main
Aur Mrs. Khanna.
Remember that film? One where Salman was paired opposite Kareena Kapoor and also had Sohail Khan. There was also Preity Zinta’s interesting cameo and an item song. Main Aur Mrs. Khanna may not be one of the most watched Diwali films but the end definitely brought smiles on many people’s faces. The scene was Deepika’s entry. In a red and black saree, this woman was looking beyond gorgeous. She enters and asks for something to drink to Sohail and Yash Tonk who were at one of the the airport cafes. She goes and sits on one of the chairs and Yash eggs Sohail to go introduce himself. The conversation next is definitely interesting. Check out the video here.
Deepika wasn’t paired with Salman Khan here but with his brother. And guess it was a small gesture from her side for saying no to Salman much before her debut film Om Shanti Om. Deepika herself revealed this trivia. While expressing her interest in working with Salman, she had told PTI, “He offered me my first film when I was too young and I was not ready to be in front of the camera. I will always be grateful to him. Just the fact that he offered me a film was a great thing. It is taking a long time for us to come together on screen, so I think there is something special waiting for us.”
And we know what they can do together. When Deepika came on Bigg Boss last year to promote Tamasha, she had proposed marriage to Salman but the actor had said no to her. The banter between the two was so lively and eye catching that we can only imagine what will happen when they decide to come together. And for that fans, you will have to pray harder.
