Will this gorgeous actress join the cast of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati ?

There are reports suggesting that this gorgeous actress is all set to be a part of Padmavati starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. We are yet to get any official confirmation on this from the makers.

It was just few weeks back during the time of Befikre’s trailer release when the makers of Padmavati announced their final star cast. While Deepika Padukone was always a part of this movie, there were speculations that Shahid and Ranveer are at loggerheads. They both wanted stronger characters than each other and Bhansali had a tough time convincing them. After much discussions and assurances, both the actors finally came on board with Ranveer playing the role of Alauddin Khilji and Shahid as the ruler of Chittor, Raja Raval Ratan Singh. However little did we know that another actress was in talks to play an important character in this movie. The actress was none other than Aditi Rao Hyadri.
Yes you read it right. As per reports in a leading tabloid, she was in talks with the makers to play the character of Kamala Devi, one of Khilji’s favourite wives. The Fitoor actress was competing with four other choices after which she was finally chosen. There had been several meetings that between Bhansali and Aditi and the director finally decided on Aditi over four other choices. According to historians, during the conquest of Gujarat in 1297, Khilji had sent a large army under his brother Ulugh Khan and general Nusrat Khan to conquer Gujarat and destroy the idol of Somnath. After King Rai Karan fled from Nahrwala, the then capital, all of his treasures fell into the hands of Khilji, including his beautiful wife Kamla Devi, who became a part of the Sultan’s harem. Khilji fell in love with Kamla and she became his chief Begum. 
Five years down the line when Alauddin decided to conquer Chittor in 1303, he defeated Raja Raval Ratan Singh and was smitten by his wife Padmavati, who was considered to be the most beautiful lady then. Unlike Kamla Devi, who agreed to be a part of his harem, Padmavati refused and instead opted for a jauhar, immortalizing herself by jumping into a burning pyre.While Deepika starts shooting by year-end, Ranveer’s already jumped into prep. He spent last weekend with Bhansali in script reading sessions and costume trials.
So will he go bald yet again this time as he did for Bajirao Mastani? The answer is definite NO. Instead he’ll be wearing wigs. The actor will soon shift to his apartment in Goregaon, so that he can cut down on his travel time. The last time we heard, Ranveer had opted for a similar strategy when he was shooting for magnum opus Bajirao Mastani. During those days, the actors were asked to work for 14 hours a day and travelling from Bandra everyday would have proved hectic. Hence the actor came up with this solution and we believe he’ll follow the same this time around too.
