Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay has a Pakistani connection – find out what
Ajay Devgn has clearly stated that he won't work with any Pakistani actors at the moment, so what's the connection that we are talking about? Read details below
So before you guys start assuming if the movie stars any Pakistani artist just like in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil or Raees, let us clear all the air for you. Ajay Devgn is extremely particular about his dream project and wants to take no risks with it. The actor has made sure that his movie is not surrounded by any unwanted controversy till the time of it’s release, so it is but natural thing that he will not prefer adding fuel to this fire. Indian Motion Pictures Association (IMPAA) has announced the ban on working of Pakistani actors in India and Ajay Devgn was one of those celebrities who sided with it. It won’t look good on the actor’s part to contradict his statement by having a connection in his own movie. So why are we saying Shivaay and Pakistan are connected? Well the reason is Vir Das.
Yes you read it right. We have seen this comedian in the movie’s trailer and while we all were wondering if he’s the real villain in movie, let us play a spoiler in this. Just few hours back BollywoodLife had EXCLUSIVELY reported that Ajay Devgn will fight not one but five villains in Shivaay. He will have to face first four, to eventually reach the fifth one. So is Vir one of those four atleast? To this the actor told PTI, ” I was surprised when Ajay offered me a role in Shivaay but It’s not a negative character.” So what does he play in movie and that’s the answer of your earlier question. He said, ” I play a Pakistani hacker but cannot reveal anything more about it right now as I am under contract.” Ahem! so well if not the actor, Ajay has an Indian artist performing a Pakistani character in his movie.
Interestingly, Ajay had almost finalised a Pakistani born actor for a role in Shivaay. Yes, as per reports Ali Kazmi, a Canadian actor was supposed to do Shivaay, and was even supposed to shoot for the same in Canada but due to scheduling conflicts Ajay Devgn couldn’t shoot in Canada and hence makers had to let go Ali Kazmi from the film.
Ajay Devgn had clearly taken a stand after the Uri attack and the ban imposed by IMPAA. When asked if he will prefer working with neighbouring artists, he said that, “Not at the moment. Country comes before money if the country breaks into mess what will we do with the money.” Well he is definitely getting applauded for taking such a firm stand!
