Yes, Priyanka Chopra has decided her next Bollywood film. Sources close to the actress have suggested that Priyanka will soon announce two Hindi films she will start work on next. And while the details are still a big secret, we at BollywoodLife managed to dig a little deep to find out more about PC’s next venture. So buzz was that Priyanka would collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gustakhi based on Sahir Ludhianvi biopic. Well, one part of this story is indeed true, Priyanka will be working with the Bajirao Mastani helmer again. And this time the duo collaborate for a project that might just be one of the strongest roles portrayed by Priyanka on silver screen.
A source revealed that Priyanka has given a nod to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s project based on a book. It’s a gritty tale of a prostitute and a hard hitting account of the life in brothel. Our source also informed us that Bhansali had originally approached Rani Mukerji for this role and the actress had even given her nod. However, people close to the actress advised her against taking up a role that she had already portrayed on screen before. The role has now landed on Priyanka’s lap and she seems pretty happy with the part and working with SLB again added our source.
So once Priyanka is back after completing her Hollywood assignments and Baywatch promotions in the US, the actress will start work with Bhansali’s film. A formal announcement might soon come from team Priyanka, but remember we told you first about this movie. And going by Bhansali’s track record he might just make this role a memorable one for Priyanka and her fans. The filmmaker is renowned for writing strong women oriented characters in his movies and we bet this one will not be disappointing for both Priyanka Chopra and her fans.We also spoke to Priyanka’s team in Mumbai who insisted that the actress has not given a go-ahead to any filmmaker at the moment. While they’d say that the actress and SLB are very much in touch, there is no work related discussion between the two.
