Salman Khan today is considered as a godfather, every newcomer in Bollywood is eager to work with the Dabangg star. The Sultan actor is known to give the aspiring actors their big break and some like Katrina Kaif have even made it to the top. But there was a time when the actor himself struggled. In fact Salman himself went to Sooraj Barjatya and insisted that he be cast as the main lead in Maine Pyar Kiya (1989). And at that time the director wasn’t sure if Salman was fit to be a movie star. Also did you know who was supposed to play the main lead in Maine Pyar Kiya? You will be shocked to know who was Barjatya’s first choice.  Deepraj Rana, we bet that you failed to put a face to that name. So we decided to make it easier for you, he is the guy who played the role of head security in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Hard to digest?
During the song launch of PRDP, Salman and the entire star cast was present including Deepraj Rana. Salman who is known to be outspoken had mistakenly revealed this truth in front of the media.  Everyone present at the event was left stunned by this fact. It won’t be wrong to say that Salman is destiny’s favorite child. Today everyone admires his stardom and wants to get associated with him.
Also one cannot forget that it was Maine Pyar Kiya that made Salman Khan the superstar he is today. Today he might have become, Dabangg and Sultan, but his Prem character still holds that special place in everyone’s heart. His innocence in the film was admiring. In fact, Salman’s Prem character became so popular that the filmmaker always named Salman as Prem in his every film right  from Hum Saath Saath Hain, Hum Aapke Hai Koun..! to Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
