Dharma Productions announces The Ghazi Attack on Navy Day 2016

While many films have been made on the exploits of the Indian Army, few have touched upon the valour of the Indian Navy. Rana Daggubati’s upcoming film, The Ghazi Attack brings forth the bravery of the men who sail on the high seas. On the occasion of Navy Day, Dharma Productions announced that it was proud to announce India’s first war-at-sea film The Ghazi Attack with AA Films, Matinee Ent and PVP Cinema. The film will hit the theatres on February 17, 2017. (
Ghazi stars Rana Daggubati as a Navy officer and Taapsee Pannu as a refugee. The film is made in Telugu and Hindi and will be dubbed in Tamil too. Dharma Productions will be presenting the film in North India. We know what a fabulous association Karan Johar’s firm had with Baahubali and they are hoping that The Ghazi Attack will repeat the success. It is a known fact that Rana and Karan are good friends. When he showed the first rushes of Baahubali to him, the filmmaker immediately noticed the potential of the project and got associated with it. Likewise for Ghazi, which is a film with a pan-India appeal. Rana had also done a cameo in Karan’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani as a hot photographer.
Rana plays the role of a righteous captain. In a chat with Bollywood Life, he had revealed that it was a demanding role and a film that was high on technology. The actor said that he was keen to do projects with a story that would appeal to audiences all over. “I get excited by the content. Ghazi has great content that can break the language barriers,” said the hunk. Rana has also produced the film along with PVP Entertainment that has flicks like Oopiri and Brahmotsavam to its credit.
The tale of The Ghazi Attack talks about the valiant Navy officers who stayed underwater for 18 days. It is directed by debutant director Sankalp. It is based on his own novel, Blue Fish. Ghazi also has Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Akshay Mittal. It will take us back to the times of the Bangladesh Liberation War when a Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi mysteriously sunk under water. It was sunk by the Indian vessel INS Rajput. A lot of CGI and special effects have gone into the film with Rana personally supervising over the production.
