Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor’s STEAMY scenes cut from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is just around the corner and while we all are excited to watch the film, the film has been involved in controversy since the past few weeks. First people were outraged by seeing the hot intimate scenes between Ranbir and Aishwarya. And then, the presence of Fawad Khan (a Pakistani actor) had created some issues. Post the Uri Attacks, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and many people demanded director Karan Johar to cut Fawad’s part from the film, in order to condemn the attacks and express his solidarity towards the national cause. However, looks like Fawad‘s part won’t be cut and Karan Johar can breathe a sigh of relief. At least for now. Though his troubles regarding the Pakistani presence (Fawad Khan and his two female protagonists’ nationality) are far from over, the CBFC (Censor Board Of Film Certification) on Wednesday granted Karan’s film a UA certificate (fit for viewing by children accompanied by adults). But at least three intimate scenes between Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were snipped off.
Says a source close to the development, “Karan Johar personally attended the censor viewing of his film. He wanted to make sure not a single moment was tampered with. However the Censor Board members, while appreciating the film’s mature theme and high level of aesthetics, objected to some steamy moments between Aishwarya and Ranbir.”
Karan apparently put up a brave fight against the cuts. He argued that these scenes were integral to the plot. However, the Board was adamant. Karan finally relented and so three intimate scenes including the one shown in the trailer, have been deleted from the film!
In the meantime, we had heard that Aishwarya‘s character was not that bold. However, the actress was the one who convinced Karan to make her part a li’l more sensual. As a source revealed to BollywoodLife, “When Ash was approached for the role the makers had kept a mild script, but on reading her part she felt that it was incomplete. Aishwarya felt that by making her character tame the makers were killing it. Aishwarya demanded that the script be made more bold. She felt that the character would be more relatable if they went all out. And it was only after this suggestion from Aishwarya the team worked on more steamy sequences in the film.”
However, looks like three of these scenes won’t be a part of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil anymore. ADHM clashes with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay on October 28 (Diwali) and while the clash will be on Karan’s mind, the controversy surronding the film will be bothering him even more.
