Trending Tunes: Alia Bhatt’s Tamma Tamma Again and Diljit Dosanjh’s Naughty Billo are a hit this week
5 of the best songs of the week.
Yep! It’s that time again. Bring
your earphones, and let us listen to the best songs. Some recent, and
one old. Some supremely romantic, while one very quirky. You are going
to love this list of Trending Tunes. Let us begin. As always, turn the
volume up and forget the world for a bit.
Naughty Billo (Phillauri)
1 minute 40 seconds into the song and we come across a big surprise. We hear a cool rap in between, and the voice sounds very familiar. While many names would cross your mind, you should soon realise that it is actually Anushka herself rapping the lyrics. The lead vocals have been provided by Diljit Dosanjh, Nakash Aziz, Shilpi Paul. Fans who were wishing to hear Diljit’s soulful voice again, after Udta Punjab, are in for a treat.
Tamma Tamma Again (Badrinath Ki Dulhania)
This new song has retained the charm of the original and in fact, what I really liked about this ‘tribute’, as Varun and Alia would like to call it is the fact that they even retained the original voices of Bappi Lahiri and Anuradha Paudwal. The song is a major throwback to the Sanjay Dutt-Madhuri Dixit starrer. What makes song more foottapping is the few beats added by Tanishk Bagchi and also the video that does full justice to the track.
Tippa (Rangoon)
The song starts with a sequence where Kangana is crying. Everyone around the actress come up to her and start consoling her. She gets back to normal, post which we see her play around, jump and dance while Shahid acts like a total snob. With singers like Sukhwinder Singh, Rekha Bhardwaj, Sunidhi Chauhan and O.S. Arun lending their voices, the song of course if good to the ears.
Aashiq Surrender Hua (Badrinath Ki Dulhania)
This song takes us back to those superhit chartbuster Govinda songs of the ’90s. It has the feel of ‘Main Toh Raste Ja Raha Tha’ from Coolie No. 1. The fun number is composed by Amaal Malik and he has crooned the track as well with Shreya Ghoshal. Amaal and Shreya, both are a unique choice for a song like this and they nail it. The lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed are quirky and go well with the feel of the film. Overall, this song is sure to make you shake a leg whenever it’s on.
Dum Dum (Phillauri)
The soulful Sufi rendition has been put together by Romy, Vivek Hariharn who are bound to touch your hearts within the very first few seconds. Little did we expect the visuals too will be so emotionally drivenSo, come back next week for another musical round up with Bollywoodlife.
