Sidharth Malhotra has no plans to become a producer but not everyone might agree with his reasoning

Actor Sidharth Malhotra says he is satisfied with the kinds of roles he is getting in Bollywood and has no plans to become a producer anytime soon.”You become a producer when you feel that the stories that you’re getting are not the ones that you want to do. So, this has not happened with me. I’m pretty happy with all the scripts that I have got,” Sidharth said when asked about his plans of producing films.
Sidharth, who was speaking on the sidelines of HT Style awards, said he finds actors Saif Ali Khan and Anushka Sharma most stylish in the industry. He also heaped praise on Anushka for her latest outing “Phillauri“.”I saw ‘Phillauri’. It’s a fresh, new take on love. The narrative is interesting. Hats off to Anushka, who has also produced it,” he said.
On the work front, Sidharth is busy shooting for the remake of 1969 movie “Ittefaq” opposite Sonakshi Sinha and also gearing up for his next release “Reload”. “It’s going great work wise. I’ll start one more film before the year end. I’ll have three back to back releases. I am happy to be working and keep my dates full.”‘Reload’ will release on August 25 and the first look will be out very soon. We all are very excited about the film,” he says.
Sidharth says “Ittefaq” is an adaptation of the 1969 released Rajesh Khanna and Nanda starrer movie, and not a remake.”‘Ittefaq’ is a murder mystery just like the old one. I would say we are not remaking it. We are adapting it to look more engaging in today’s time. ‘Ittefaq’ is a true homage to the murder mystery genre.” he said. While 1969 released “Ittefaq” was directed by the late Yash Chopra and produced by the late B.R. Chopra, the adaptation is helmed by B.R. Chopra’s grandson Abhay Chopra and jointly produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Karan’s Dharma Productions and BR Films.
