Varun Dhawan took to Instagram to talk about his presence on Tinder!

It often happens that you are browsing on Tinder, and there pops up a celeb picture! Almost never it is actually the star themselves on that app, but a fake id created on their name. Millennial favourite Varun Dhawan seems to have had enough of it. 
Varun took to Instagram and shared a screenshot of a Tinder profile, which was using his picture as display. Usually, people are well aware of that such profiles are more fake than China made cellular phones. But there are few naive, innocent souls who fall for this crap. Varun, in his Insta story, very rightfully clarified that he is NOT on any dating app and that someone is using his picture. This might just save fans of the actor from other continents from falling prey to such traps. We do wonder how Varun got hold of this picture! The best guess is it was sent to him by a well wisher.

Very recently a case came to light where a UK based woman was conned by someone using Saif Ali Khan’s picture being used on a dating profile. His picture was used by a person going by the name of Antony Ray, who fooled 44-year old Anna Rowe on Tinder. She was actually under the impression that it was Saif, with whom she fell in love with. Thankfully, now after Varun’s clarifications, no one will, or no one should, fall victim to any such incident with his name in question.

Recently, Alia Bhatt used Tinder to promote her film Dear Zindagi. A lot of people were surprised to find Alia’s VERIFIED picture on the dating app. But once someone interacted with the profile, it became very evident that it was merely a promotional stint and nothing else. Such a promotional stint is also a potential hazard. What if someone had thought Varun’s profile was also a part of a promotion event?
