FIR filed against Shirish Kunder over mocking the UP CM Yogi Adityanath; the director issues a public apology

Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder has landed himself in some serious trouble after criticising the Centre’s decision to appoint Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath as the new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Shirish in a series of tweets that are now deleted from his timeline, had slammed the UP CM by not only calling him a “goon” but by also mentioning stuff like, “Hoping a goon will stop rioting once he’s allowed to rule is like expecting a rapist to stop raping once he’s allowed to rape.” In fact, in another tweet he had also written, “Going by the logic of making a goon as CM so that he behaves, Dawood can be CBI director. And Mallya – RBI Governor.” Obviously, this hasn’t gone down well with the political wing.
According to the latest ANI report, an FIR has been registered in Hazratganj against Kunder for calling Yogi Adityanath a “goon”. Now we dunno what worse is yet in store for Kunder but interestingly, as soon as reports of FIR being filed against Kunder hit the web, Kunder has issued a public apology on Twitter. Taking up to the microblogging site last night, a rather apologetic Kunder wrote, “I unconditionally apologise. I never meant to hurt anyones feelings or sentiment.”
Here, check out the tweet below:
On Thursday, a Noida resident was arrested after a group formed by Adityanath – the Hindu Yuva Vahini – filed a police complaint against an “objectionable” picture of the chief minister. This was days after a woman in Bengaluru was booked for “objectionable” Facebook posts against the UP chief minister, on the basis of a complaint filed by Yuva Morcha members under various sections of the IT Act.
