Shah Rukh Khan-Hugh Jackman, Sanjay Dutt – meet the top 5 newsmakers of the week
The week that was...
This week Bollywood saw Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone gracing
the Oscars, the trailer launch of the much awaited Sarkar 3, Alia Bhatt
and Mahesh Bhatt received death threats, Sanjay Dutt was embroiled in
another police case and Hugh Jackman sort of broke the internet by
suggesting Shah Rukh Khan’s name as the next Wolverine.
Let’s take a look at the top five news makers of the week:
Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone graced the Oscars
Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra were both present for the Oscars 2017 and while PeeCee attended the red carpet event as well, DP made an appearance for the Vanity Fair after party. At the Vanity Fair Oscars after party, Deepika stepped out wearing a black and golden tube gown which looked pretty similar to the one that she wore during the Vogue party 2012. But of course, this Oscar affair is a rather glamorous rendition of the same outfit. In fact, we love how DP didn’t even go overboard with her make-up and accessories this time but simply let her flowy tresses and smile do the talking. Coming to Priyanka, she wore a black Michael Kors gown and man did she just personify the word sexy! The gown perfectly accentuates her body and the frilled sleeves look even better. Not just on the sleeves but there are frills in a lot of places of the gown and it doesn’t even look bad. The gown could have gone wrong but the actress handled it with much oomph and style. Check them out…
Sarkar 3 trailer
The trailer of Sarkar 3 was launched and it brings out the angry old man persona of Amitabh Bachchan. Big B revisits the world of Sarkar with Sarkar 3 and this time he has become more badass than ever. The trailer starts of with ‘A wounded lion is the most dangerous’ – and this forms the crux of Sarkar 3. One look at the trailer and you’ll realise that it’s a Ram Gopal Varma film, and even though he has gone off track in recent years, this may well turn out to be his comeback. Also, the background score in the trailer reminds me of Ram Gopal Varma’s own underrated gem, Rakhta Charitra. If you are a fan of this franchise, the final scene of the trailer is sure to give you goosebumps. You know sh*t just got real when Amitabh Bachchan in his baritone says, “Paintees saal ho gaye khud apne haath se kisi ko maare hue, par ab inhi haatho se maarunga.” (It’s been 35 years I killed anyone with my own hands, but now I am going to). Check out the trailer here.
Alia Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt receive death threats
Recently, Mahesh Bhatt had filed an FIR against an unknown caller who threatened to kill Alia Bhatt and Soni Razdan if his demand of Rs 50 lakh was not fulfilled. A source close to Mumbai police stated that after receiving the call, Mahesh Bhatt initially thought it to be a prank but later he received a number of texts and whatsapp messages that stated that these threats shouldn’t be taken lightly. The caller said, if his instruction weren’t followed he’ll kill Alia Bhatt and Soni Razdan. The exact words were, “If you fail to do so, I will fire several rounds of bullets in your daughter Alia and wife Soni.”
Shah Rukh Khan as Wolverine says Hugh Jackman
In an interview with Rajeev Masand, when Hugh Jackman was asked if he would be comfortable seeing other actor playing the role that he had made legendary with his portrayal for 17 long years, Hugh replied, “I think I’ll be fine with it. I hope other people play it. May be Shah Rukh Khan could play it.” Yes! he said that. Exciting right? He further added, “The comic book series is so good because you have so many people interpreting this role. I think there are six origin stories. I’ll be really interested to see how I feel about it. I want it to be really great. But I don’t want it to be that much better than me. Just a little bit is fine. But if everyone is like ‘oh thank god..now,’ I might find that little difficult.”
FIR filed against Sanjay Dutt during the shoot of Bhoomi in Agra
Police cases and Sanjay Dutt can’t stay away from each other. Sanjay Dutt‘s bodyguards roughed up media personnel on the sets of Bhoomi which led to them filing a FIR against the actor. It seemed like a really ugly fight between the both. The FIR mentioned how the security guards manhandled them and even hurled abuses at them. This could have snowballed into a big controversy but Sanjay Dutt’s apology might sort the matter now. Yes, the actor apologised for the way media was handled by his bodyguards. A video of the same is going viral which has Sanjay asking people to forgive him. Check it out here.
