Jolly LLB 2 becomes Akshay Kumar’s 8th highest day one opener
The Rs 13.20 crore opening of Jolly LLB 2 makes it Akshay Kumar's eighth highest opening day grosser beating the openind day figures of Gabbar is Back and right behind Rustom and Housefull 2.
Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2, a sequel to 2013’s surprise hit Jolly LLB that starred Arshad Warsi in the lead, earned Rs 13.20 crore on the first day of its release. It’s predecessor had opened to a meagre Rs 3.21 crore, back in 2013, in that sense Jolly LLB 2
is way ahead of the first part but that was a low budget film, so the
opening was enough to make it sail through the box office. The Rs 13.20
crore opening of Jolly LLB 2 makes it Akshay Kumar’s eighth highest
opening day grosser beating the openind day figures of Gabbar is Back and right behind Rustom and Housefull 2. Even
after becoming his eighth highest opener, the film’s opening is below
expectations because it is one of his widest releases with close to 3600
screens. But the film is seeing a positive word of mouth from the
audience and is expected to grow huge on its second and third day. His
highest opener till date remains 2014’s Singh Is Bliing, which
had opened to staggering Rs 20.67 crore, followed by last year’s
Housefull 3 with Rs 15.21 crore, Brothers with Rs 15.2 crore.
