Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil will not release with Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees – read details here
Shah Rukh Khan's Raees will not release with Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil as Rakesh Roshan has decided to release the latter a day early.
Shah Rukh Khan‘s Raees and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil were supposed to kickstart the box office clashes of 2017. There
have been attempts made to avert the clash, but nothing has been
successful till now. It has been now announced that Rakesh Roshan’s
Kaabil will release a day earlier instead of January 26 and you will get
to watch the movie in the theatres from January 25, 6pm onwards. So
they averted the clash by a day.
We know what you are thinking. How can that avoid the big clash? Of course it didn’t. Raees and Kaabil are still going fight it out at the box office even if Hrithik’s film is scheduled to release a day in advance. That helps the film get a five day weekend to relish on although the real game will begin from Wednesday evening. This might help the film post good numbers at the box office and will even give Kaabil an edge over SRK’s Raees that releases the next day.
If you remember, we told you how Hrithik and Shah Rukh might both be victorious at the box office after all if their mutual deal goes well. Remember the day when Shah Rukh Khan had gone to meet Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik at their residence? Our source had details from this closed door meetings and revealed, “People might think that this clash will affect both severely but SRK and Hrithik have brokered a deal which will minimise the losses manifold. They have divided the screens among themselves in such a way that none of them is adversely affected. Even the territories have been worked on.” This could be yet another way to give a fair ground to both the films to perform at the box office.
In fact, when we discussed this with our Trade Expert Amul Mohan, about this clash, he said, “As far as I know I don’t think Kaabil is going to move from the spot. That’s because they have sold a few territories. It’s already in place to show the film on a particular date. In an ideal world, Shah Rukh Khan would want a solo release. But I don’t think it will be the case this time. Let’s see what happens. It’s not in the hands of Hrithik Roshan right now. If something can be arranged mutually, it will be beneficial for both the films.” He clearly hints that the only way out is to get into a mutual agreement and guess that’s what happened behind closed doors that day.
