I am GUILTY and I deserve punishment – Om Puri takes back his words against the Indian Martyrs

Om Puri has issued a public apology for insulting our Indian soldiers. Read statement here....

Clearly, Om Puri didn’t think twice before passing ridiculous remarks against our Indian army post the surgical strike on Pakistan. He said, “Who had asked the soldiers to join the army? Who told them to pick the weapons?”. His insensitive comments not only drew severe flak on social media but also landed him in legal trouble after an FIR was lodged against the veteran actor for being so heartless.  However, guess he’s finally got back to senses and doesn’t want anymore hate mails against him….
In his recent interaction with media, Om Puri apologised for being such a betrayer of nation. He not only took back the words he said against our Indian army but also cried sorry stating, “”I am very embarrassed at what I said and I deserve punishment, not forgiveness. I first apologise to his (anUri attack martyr) family, if at all they will forgive me, I apologise to the whole country, the army. I know it’s not justified that you say so much and then think a sorry will make it right. I am guilty and I deserve a punishment. I want to be tried by the army, I should be court-martialled. I want a constructive punishment. The army should teach me how to use weapons and send me on the same site where that brave man sacrificed himself for the country. I don’t want to be forgiven. I am pleading to the nation I want to be punished. Puri received flak from his own fraternity as the comments didn’t go down well with many of his industry friends.”   

We wonder if this public apology will serve any purpose now because people have already drawn their perceptions about Om Puri and his brutal thinking. In fact, Bollywood celebs right from Anupam Kher to TV fame Karan Patel had slammed the actor right after they heard Om Puri speak against our Indian martyrs. Kher even tweeted saying, “Dear #OmPuri ji. Mai aapki bahut izzat karta hoon. Lekin kal tv per desh ke sainik ke baare mein aapki baat sunkar bahut DUKH hua. #VerySad.” While Karan Patel added, “Mr. Om puri (actor) this isnt #ChinaGate #Film … so kindly shut the fu*k up and keep the bizarre suggestions to yourself. Kuch kaam karlo.”
