Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma’s role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to be tweaked; Saif Ali Khan to REPLACE Fawad Khan?
There is speculation that Karan Johar might replace Fawad Khan in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with Saif Ali Khan and change his lead female characters’ (Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's characters') country of origin (Pakistan), in the wake of the anti-Pak wave...
As a source reveals, “Karan’s film releases on Diwali, but because of the anti-Pakistani wave that is sweeping through India right now, he is facing a dual dilemma — it is too late to replace Fawad, but his female leads play Pakistani women. So what he is planning to do is tweak the script a bit and work it in such a way that they are no longer Pakistani citizens, but belong to another country.”
Earlier Karan Johar had mentioned that banning Pakistani artistes is not the solution to curb terrorism. He had mentioned, “I understand the anger and the anguish that surround us and I empathise, my heart bleeds for the lost lives. There is nothing that can justify this terrible feeling of terror. Then you are faced in a situation such as this (asking for ban on Pak artistes like Fawad and Mahira). If this was truly a solution, one would take it. But this is not a solution. I don’t believe it is. The larger forces have to come together and sort the situation and this cannot be banning talent or art.” However, after the protest by thousands of Indians and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Karan did think about replacing Fawad Khan. But guess that it is too late now!
In the meanwhile, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is slated to clash with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay on October 28. The film won’t face protest after IMPPA (Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association) spoke with the MNS and made them understand that the film was already shot before the attacks and before the ban came into existence and hence they should let films that have already been shot release without protests.
