The recent five days were probably the best times for
fashion crazies out there. With Lakme Fashion Week 2017 kickstarted and
coming to a bang on end, there was so much
to look forward to and take notes from. My interest piqued as the days
went by for all the showstoppers were literally killing it on the ramp!
Be it the glamorous Malaika Arora or the ethereal Tabu or the hot mama Kareena Kapoor Khan, they
were all the perfect muse for fashion designers. Now that the Fashion
Week has finally come to an end, here we are, reliving the five days
gone by that were a pure treat to the eyes and the wardrobe! Some of the
designs showcased by the celebs were so damn cool that I’m definitely
using them for my daily wear. One element from each designer’s creation
could weave into a fantastic ensemble. Oh well, I can go on and on about
the show as well as the lovely exhibition of designs but I’m gonna keep
my focus on the celebs who walked the ramp and how fared.
Although there were a lot of celebs present at the event, only a few caught my fancy for their ramp presence was simply refreshing and the outfit suits them well. The first day had Varun Dhawan walk for Kunal Rawal and well, Arjun Kapoor joined them. The second day was duller because there were barely good designs to look up to and lack of striking showstoppers added to it being less happening. The third day, though, was quite interesting. The day kickstarted with Anushka Manchanda and Kiara Advani who were soon followed by Nimrat Kaur and Swara Bhaskar who did pretty good on the ramp! Vaani Kapoor, Diana Penty also made for a pretty cool showstopper. The day came to an end with Bipasha Basu walk for Falguni Shane Peacock. Day four started with Karisma Kapoor and continued with Aditi Rao Hydari, Daisy Shah and Padma Lakshmi. The finale was quite star-studded as the event began with Malaika Arora Khan and Jim Sarbh and soon had Disha Patani, Tabu, Amyra Dastur and Kareena Kapoor Khan bring a glamorous end to the Fashion Week.

What’s hot?
#Varun Dhawan’s ramp walk for Kunal Rawal was quite entertaining as not only did the actor have a good stage presence but the fun element made for a good watch.
#Kiara Advani added some life to the ramp as she walked for Farah Sanjana. She twirled and continued to hold a big smile on her face till she left the ramp. Although I wasn’t a big fan of her outfit as a show stopper but I loved her enthusiasm!
#Swara Bhaskar was also a wave of fun as she couldn’t care less about ramp ethics. She walked with a funny move and pulled off the show with a lot of spunk!
#Nimrat Kaur may have been super cautious as she paraded the ramp initially but the minute she took centre stage, suddenly all the awkward movements turned into graceful twirling! Her showstopper outfit by Sonam and Paras Modi was very gorgeous!
#Malaika Arora’s red hot bralette became my instant favourite! Not just because of its sexy vibe but also over the fact that the balance created by the yellow ghagra by Divya Reddy simply looked marvellous. Even the choice of keeping a minimal makeup worked in her favour!
#Amyra Dastur’s attitude and panache on the ramp was super cool! Wearing a thigh high slit gown by Karn Malhotra was quite sultry but the way she pulled it off, it couldn’t have been more sassy and sexy!
#Disha Patani’s careful steps on the ramp was a little bit worrisome for me but it soon turned relieving as she stood tall and flaunted the lovely Jayanti Reddy bridal ensemble. The colour, the designs, Disha’s look, everything was too gorgeous!
#Kareena Kapoor Khan’s first ramp walk post pregnancy wasn’t quite the glamorous kind but I can’t stop loving her attitude towards everything! As she walked for Anita Dongre, I found that the outfit was a little too loose which didn’t show how much weight she lost. However, knowing the designer, it’s pretty evident that the outfit Bebo wore was specifically designed in a way to suit her comfort. She looked lovely!
What’s not?
#I wasn’t a fan of Bipasha Basu’s look for Falguni Shane Peacock for it looked quite odd. Perhaps it was the fitting of the cape gown that was a major turn off.
#Aditi definitely needs to do something about her eyebrows. She always seems to look as if some peril has befallen in her life. The House of Kotwara ensemble was lovely but I really wasn’t happy with her walk and her eye makeup. It seemed too dull.
#To be quite honest, I liked Tarun Tahiliani’s collection but what showstopper Padma Lakshmi donned was simply boring. I was expecting a lot more considering the showstoppers have a more glamorous appearance. With the excitement around the international model/celebrity, the outfit was quite a letdown.
#There was something odd about the way Vaani Kapoor was walking on the ramp for Ritu Kumar. She seemed rather uncomfortable with her outfit. Although she managed to reach the centre stage, pose and turn back.
