10 romantic LIES Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan have fed us through their movies
In this special anti-V-Day feature, we look at 10 Bollywood romantic concepts that are an epic fail in real life!
A
word of warning, though! Any person in the spirit of Valentine’s Day
and a sucker for Bollywood romance should stay from this article as far
as possible on V-Day. For, this feature is exactly the antithesis of
whatever lovey dovey expectations you had about romance Bollywood style.
Now that I am done with my warnings, off to the story…
Despite
you wanting to disagree with me, you can’t deny the truth that many of
our lives are totally ruled by Bollywood and its movies. You want a
Bollywood-style love, Bollywood style dance and song routine, Bollywood
style wedding – Bollywood had set that high standards for you. And what
can I say about Bollywood love stories? I can still hear girls sigh when
during the prelude to the Tujhe Dekha Toh in DDLJ, Shah Rukh Khan
opens his arms to Kajol in DDLJ and expects her into his arms (she
does, though they have never confessed about their feelings before
this). Or when Salman Khan
follows Sonakshi Sinha in Dabangg during the Tere Mast Mast Do Nain
song, though he is on duty. Bollywood has taught us so much about love.
Or has it?
In this special anti-V-Day feature, we look at 10 Bollywood romantic concepts that are an epic fail in real life!
Misconception #1 – Staring too long will make the girl blushYou know…this…
Leads to…this…
Reality – I really don’t know whether any girl will far for you if you stare at her too much, but most probably you will end up looking like this for her…
Remember, the recent murder of a female employee at Infosys, Pune was sparked off by an incident of incessant staring…
Misconception #2 – If not staring, stalking definitely will make her fall for you
You think you find it romantic to stand below her balcony for hours for a girl who probably doesn’t even know you exist? You poor sucker!
Reality – Most of such ‘romantic’ gestures end up in the below format…either by her father, brother or husband.
…and there is jail of course!
Misconception #3 – The first kiss is always the best
Reality – Going for the perfect first kiss is always that huge pressure and mostly we end up like this…
Misconception #4- When you are in love, the entire world knows to dance for you
Reality – Expect others to dance synchronized with you, and you might end up as another viral video…
Misconception #5 – When you are a lover, the world is a seashell for you
In Bollywood, once you are in love, you can go from Nainital to Niagara just in a matter of a song…
Reality – You would be lucky enough to get that corner spot on Bandstand.
Misconception #6 – Rising on your bike with the girl on the pillion, and wind bristling through your hair…Orgasmic!
Reality – We always wonder how these Bollywood heroes and heroines never get caught by traffic police even after driving helmet-less. Seriously, which city is this?
Remember, drive safely. These Bollywood actors have stunt doubles. You don’t!
Misconception #7 – Romancing in the snow in that skimpy sari is so sexy
Sexy, you think? Think again!
Reality – Another example of Bollywood sexism as men are fully clad in every snow song, while women, well…
Lesson to remember – Women are human beings, not polar bears!
Misconception #8 – And making out in the beach is so so HOT!
Reality – “Babe, what’s the bloody smell? OMG! Something is crawling behind my back and it’s not even alive!”
Misconception #9 – Betty will wait for you even when you are fooling with Veronica
Like SRK in KKHH or Ranbir Kapoor in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, boys can have their fun. Nice girls, meanwhile, will patiently wait for them to return and fall for them.
Reality – Lesson number two for boys: Neither are you Earth nor is she your moon as to have her life orbit around you.
Misconception #10 – Pure love can happen only once…
Reality – In KKHH itself, SRK’s character broke his rule of marrying two women. So if they can’t follow it in movies, why is this rule expected to be followed in real life?
If you are still not fed up with ‘love’ even after reading this article, I wish you a very Happy Valentine’s Day!
