SHOCKING! Fawad Khan’s role chopped off from Sushant Singh Rajput starrer MS Dhoni: The Untold Story

Well looks like Sushant Singh Rajput's MS Dhoni: The Untold Story was the first casualty of the ongoing ruckus between political parties and Bollywood.

Before the release of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, BollywoodLife exclusively revealed to you that Pakistani hottie Fawad Khan was the part of this Sushant Singh Rajput starrer. Fawad Khan was essaying the role of flamboyant Indian cricketer and test captain Virat Kohli. BollywoodLife was the first and the only one to confirm this news. But Fawad Khan was nowhere to be found in the film upon its release. There were several speculations as to whether he was the part of Dhoni biopic or not; if he was then why didn’t his character of Virat Kohli make it to the final cut. Well, we have another new update that will definitely shock you…
A source close to the film revealed to BollywoodLife that Fawad Khan was indeed a part of the film. In fact he had even shot for his part with director Neeraj Pandey and lead actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The equation between Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni was an integral part of the film. And a week before the film’s release Fawad was still a part of the film, in fact would was supposed to be a surprise package for the fans of both Virat and Fawad. However, the Uri attacks happened and soon after the Pakistani artistes issue became a debate thanks to political parties who not only asked a ban on these artistes but also films that would feature them. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil faced the wrath of this episode with MNS issuing a threat to all Pak actors either to leave India or be thrown out. 

So Neeraj Pandey, at the nth minute made a very tough call and chopped off Fawad’s role. Says a source who worked on the film, “Neeraj Pandey didn’t want any negative publicity or controversy around  the film. Though Fawad Khan’s character was an integral part of the film, but it wasn’t as important as that of MS Dhoni’s. So he thought it’s better to do away with the Fawad’s portions in the film than face the ire of this controversy. Neeraj didn’t want the focus of the film to shift from MS Dhoni and Sushant Singh Rajput to Fawad Khan, Virat Kohli and Pakistan.” Our source also added, “Fawad Khan wasn’t even aware about his part being omitted until the movie released.”

And we missed a chance to witness Fawad Khan‘s magic on screen. Here’s hoping we’ll get to see deleted scenes on YouTube, may be.
