Badrinath Ki Dulhania music review: Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt’s romcom promises one chartbuster after another
The jukebox of the much-awaited Badrinath Ki Dulhania starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt is finally here. The album boast of five tracks by multiple music composers like Amaal Malik, Akhil Sachdeva, Bappi Lahiri and Tanishk Bagchi and lyricists in Shabbir Ahmed, Kumaar, Akhil Sachdeva, Indeevar and Badshah.

Aashiq Surrender Hua
This song takes us back to those superhit chartbuster Govinda songs of 90s. It has the feel of ‘Main Toh Raste Ja Raha Tha’ from Coolie No. 1. The fun number is composed by Amaal Malik and he has crooned the track as well with Shreya Ghoshal. Amaal and Shreya, both are a unique choice for a song like this and they nail it. The lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed are quirky and goes well with the feel of the film. Overall this song is sure to make you shake a leg whenever it’s on.
Roke Na Ruke Naina
Another love ballad from the combo that is Amaal Malik and Arijit Singh. This soft number has a classic touch to it, especially the use of tabla adds weight to the song. The lyrics by Kumaar are a treat to your ears. Coming back to Arijit Singh, his versatility makes him the star he is today.
Humsafar
This is another soft number in the album is composed, sung and written by Akhil Sachdeva. And I must say I am impressed with all the departments he has worked on. His voice, however, has a strong Atif Aslam hangover to it. This song will for sure find its way to your playlist.
Badri Ki Dulhania
Composed by Tanishk Bagchi, this title track has multiple singers behind the mic, in Dev Negi, Neha Kakkar, Monali Thakur and Ikka. The lyrics of the song are by Shabbir Ahmed. The only good thing about the song is its hook line. Apart from that, this situational track is pretty average.
Tamma Tamma Again
The most awaited track of the album is this tribute to 1990 hit Tamma Tamma Loge. This is the season of remakes and this has to be one of the better ones in recent times. The best part about the song is that composer Tanishk Bagchi, opted for the original voices (Bappi Lahiri, Anuradha Paudwal) for the track and that added to the nostalgia. But the main problem with the song is the unnecessary rap by Badshah. It doesn’t help and ruins the mood. If you can get through that, this ‘remix’ is a winner.
