Talk about some exciting news! As if the news of Ranveer Singh
playing a rapper in Zoya Akhtar”s Gully Boy wasn’t enough dope, now our
source EXCLUSIVELY reveals to us how Mr Singh might also pen down a rap
or two for the film. Yes! Like if you notice, ever since the news of
Ranveer being roped in to play a rapper in Gully Boy has hit the web,
the actor has been majorly investing himself into a lot of rapping – be
it through stage shows, Instagram videos, or random promotional events.
In fact, more recently, Ranveer had even rapped for a brand with a
kickass video titled – “Don’t hold back”. Remember the one that released
earlier last month? Oh! The lyrics were so damn crazaayyy!
Ranveer himself penned down the lyrics for this first official rap ‘Don’t hold back’ which read, “Live everyday like it’s my aakhri or pehla, Na hoon fukra, na hoon vella, Tere nehle pe hoon dehla, Beta main hoon tera guru, aur tu hai mera chela, That Ranveer guy’s so crazy! Haan, main hoon saala Hatela! I’m a freak in this carnival. Instincts of an animal, Ruthless like a cannibal, Foolish and hungry, All and sundry, Be warned, Ab batao King kaun? It’s on, I’m King Kong!”

Dunno about you but we’re certainly thrilled to watch Ranveer ace the rapper instinct in him through Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The film is based on Naezy aka Naved Shaikh, who is a gully rapper from a Kurla slum. Speaking of which, Naezy had even mentioned in an interview saying, “I like the guy(Ranveer). We worked together for a song in Hey Bro (2015). He is a versatile actor and I have no doubts that he can effortlessly play an emperor in Padmavati and a rapper in this film.”
Gully Boy even brings together Ranveer and Alia Bhatt for the first time on the big screen. So be rest assured this Zoya directorial is going to roll out a lot of surprises as and when it inches closer to the release day.
