Alia Bhatt has
come a long way since the infamous Koffee With Karan episode but people
still seem to be baffled by her intelligence. Ever since the goof up,
the actress has been super careful of what she speaks on public forums or interviews. However, at the trailer launch of Badrinath Ki Dulhania, the
surprise on a journalist’s face left the actress amused. So at the
trailer launch of BKD, a journalist was surprised to see that her
character in the film was smart. Here’s what happened. It started with
people asking Alia what she’s going to go for in the sequel of Humpty
Sharma Ki Dulhania. As we remember, in the first film, she was hell bent
on buying a Manish Malhotra lehenga for her wedding. So when she was
asked what she focuses to achieve this time, the director of the film,
Shashank Khaitaan said, ‘respect’. We’ve seen that bit in the trailer as
well.
Oh but the story doesn’t end there. After Khaitaan said that, the actress agreed with him. The journalist then added, “And you look intelligent in the film also.” To this, Alia was first taken aback but quickly asked, “You seem quite shocked that I look intelligent in the film.” The journo tried to avoid offending the actress as he said that he “Not shocked.” But the diva continued, “You’re saying it like, arey ho gaya tumhara, mil gaya tumhe intelligent role. Finally ban gayi tum intelligent film mein. I am quite the intelligent one in the film, yeah.” That’s how she concluded the ‘lovely’ conversation. However, as soon as the ‘drop the mic’ moment happened, we noticed Varun patting her back with a big smile on his face. Slated to release on March 10, the movie opens in a Holi weekend! Lucky for Varun and Alia that they didn’t have to face any clash for the date.
