Fawad Khan NEVER said ‘Bollywood Kisika Baap Nahi Hai’ and we have SOLID PROOF! Fawad Khan has been the poster boy, unfortunately, of the current Indo-Pak rivalry when it comes to all things Bollywood, following the Uri militant attack that left 17 of our soldiers dead. In reply, we did conduct surgical strikes at a few terrorist camps at the border, but people are not just done with that. Many have been demanding a global isolation of our neighboring country, who is believed to be behind the attacks, and wants all kind of trade, be it business or cultural, to be stopped. This also means Pakistani actors who are working in Bollywood would not be allowed here, like Fawad or Mahira Khan (who is making her debut with Raees). First, it was Maharastra Navanirman Sena, who demanded that Pakistani artistes should be sent back, or they will be made to sent back forcibly. Now even IMPPA had imposed a ban on Pakistani artistes working in Bollywood, till the entire issue is resolved. Bollywood is divided, of course, over sending Fawad and Mahira back, but then one another news with regards to Fawad was making the news in the past couple of days…
As per certain reports, Fawad was quoted ranting against India and the ban imposed upon him saying, “Bollywood kisi ke baap ki hai kya jo hum wahan kaam nahin karenge, Bollywood hamare logon ke wajah se hi hai. Jo log hamara virodh kar rahe hain, woh hote kaun hai virodh karne wale, inn chhote logon ki virodh ki hume kya parwah”. Facebook and WhatsApp have been going viral over his supposed comments, with many finding another opportunity to bash the man once again. The news first went viral in a site called Godofsmallthing.com, which quoted the actor as saying,  “My first priority is Pakistan. Pakistan comes first, Indian person’s heart is so small. Only money is important for these people, there is no love for country and our soldiers.” Strangely the quote is not exclusive at all, instead crediting sources like Threemad.com and Internet Hindu. Internet Hindu is a mouthpiece of the most radical of the right wings. Here are the first two paragraphs of its Fawad story
Fawad Khan has given a gift to all those people who were supporting him in India by spitting upon their faces. According to the media reports two days before Fawad Take off his flight for Pakistan.
After reaching Fawad Khan said, ” My first priority is Pakistan. Pakistan comes first, indian person’s heart is so small. Only money is important for these people, there is no love for country and our soldiers.”
First of all, these two paras don’t make any kind of sense, since Fawad Khan was already in Pakistan for the last two months, because his wife was pregnant and he wanted to be by her side. We even ran a story as to why he is not a part of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil promotions because of this. So reporting that he told the media so, two days before taking off to Pakistan is completely baseless.
Threemad.com themselves don’t take credit for the story, instead citing their source as DainikBharat (not Dainik Bhaskar, the popular Indian news paper.
Now this DainikBharat has an interesting FB page, whose cover page is the below…
dbfb
…as you can see they pride themselves on being an ‘anti-secular news portal’, whose special October 2 story was a poll on Mahatma Gandhi and his assassin, Nathuram Godse, as to who is the bigger Mahatma! So you can verify the authenticity of a story coming on their portal. Their reports says that the President of IMPPA, TP Aggarwal had given the exact quote which was allegedly said by an angry Fawad on returning to Pakistan. However when popular website, The Quint, contacted TP Aggarwal, he said he had heard it in a meeting, and he doesn’t even remember who said it! Now that’s your verified source!!!
No other major newspaper or news portal have verified this statement of Fawad’s, so that itself prove that this entire story is a fabrication of someone’s imaginative, mischievous mind, who wants to portray Fawad in poor light. And we live in an era, where we share and forward messages on Facebook and WhatsApp without even checking the source of the story – a very harmful behaviour, since this helps miscreants spread false news and gossip faster than you say ‘It’s false!’
It’s okay for you to take sides on whether Fawad Khan and other Pakistani artistes should be banned or not, but linking them to quotes that they have not even spoken about, is simply bad journalism. And spreading them without checking the veracity of the sources is simply bad social behaviour. Then there is no difference between  us and those gossiping aunties about whom we always complain about!
