Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar are often seen as box office rivals. Unlike his friendship with Salman Khan, where they are see jibing with each other during Bigg Boss shooting, ‘mock wrestling’ each other on their birthdays and even going on cycling one fine day, Shah Rukh Khan’s equation with Akshay Kumar is just cordial. However, when Shah Rukh Khan was asked about Akshay Kumar when he initiated a #AskSRK session on Twitter, he praised Akshay for being hardworking and being ‘very cool’! Wow, that some really good praise and we can’t help but agree with him. Akshay Kumar is definitely one of the most hardworking stars in the industry, having successfully resurrected his career, after the slump of bad films in the late ’90s and early 2000s. In 2016 itself he had three releases and all the three films worked well at the box office despite being of different genres – evacuation drama Rustom, mindless entertainer Housefull 3 and courtroom entertainer Rustom.
Shah Rukh Khan has been answering quite a lot of questions during his #AskSRK session with his fans, mostly about Raees date being pushed away, his ignorance over the trailer launch dates of Raees and Dear Zindagi, his surprise over being asked if he would be invited to be a part of Kim Kardashian’s sex tape and of course, Akshay Kumar.

Meanwhile Raees is in news thanks to certain political parties demanding a ban on Pakistani artistes working in India, following Uri attacks. Raees had Mahira Khan playing Shah Rukh Khan’s wife in the film. There were even talks that the film will also get banned because of her involvement. When asked about the reports, Sidhwani told reporters, “We are sticking to the release date we announced earlier for ‘Raees’. I don’t think something like a ban has happened. The association has itself written to the government that people who have already made their films, who have completed their shooting, we should respect that. Let those movies release and whatever the government decides in the future, they will take a call on that.”
