It was extremely weird to see tonight’s episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, after all that transpired today. If you have no clue what I am talking about, let me give you a brief recap of what happened. In the morning we are greeted by a lovely post by Kapil Sharma where he finally revealed the special woman in his life, Ginni, and the tweet had their pic. However, he made matters more confusing for us when he posted the same picture on Facebook where he mentions that she is his wife. As his fans try to figure out who the girl is, with some even claiming that she is the heroine of his next movie, Firangi, came another news that almost engulfed this romantic development of Kapil. There was a report that Kapil Sharma, in an inebriated state, abused and later physically assaulted colleague Sunil Grover while they were flying from Australia. It would have ended up as a rumour, had any one of them denied the story. But no one did.
Then there is another report that Sunil Grover is reportedly quitting the show over the fight, and we have to agree with his decision if he really plans to do so. However, tonight’s episode had already been canned before the fight, so Sunil Grover was there and we saw that great camaraderie of his with Kapil Sharma, which we might never see again in the coming weeks.
Anushka Sharma was the special guest today, as she came to promote her upcoming movie, Phillauri, which she has produced. As you know, she is playing a friendly spirit in the movie named Shashi. So she started off the show by letting her voice make her presence felt first before she made her entry. Then there was the usual talk with Kapil Sharma, and later interaction with the audience members, where one viewer said he would want to be a ghost because he wants to scare his wife, who was sitting next to him! Like seriously!
There was a fun moment where Kapil asked her what she would do as a ghost if she was around Ranveer Singh’s wardrobe. She replied that she would replace his clothes with normal ones. Then Sunil Grover entered the set with his doctor act, and cracked jokes along with Kapil Sharma, and we wondered whether there were really cold vibes hidden in those jokes.
The episode was really average, but it was a little different for us as we are not sure we would see the same team dynamics in future again.
