Move over Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, the bigger news is that TV actresses Nia Sharma, Drashti Dhami and Sanaya Irani have defeated Katrina Kaif and Sonam Kapoor on the list of 50 Sexiest Asian Women!
Ever since Britain-based newspaper, Eastern Eye, has released the list of 50 Sexiest Asian Women, people have been busy discussing how Deepika Padukone has dethroned four-time winner Priyanka Chopra from the list this year. But guys, there is something more shocking on the list that this. TV actresses Nia Sharma and Drashti Dhami have beaten Bollywood hotties Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and Sonam Kapoor on the list!!
The 2016 edition of the annual poll was based on people’s votes that poured in from across the globe. While Deepika, Priyanka, Nia and Drashti claimed the top four spots, starlet Alia Bhatt took the fifth position. Others in the top 10 are Sanaya Irani (sixth), Katrina Kaif (seventh), Sonam Kapoor (eight), Pakistani actress Mahira Khan (ninth) and Gauhar Khan (10th). The youngest in Eastern Eye 50 Sexiest Asian Women list 2016 is 20-yr-old Swaragini actress, Helly Shah.The highest placed new entry in the list is Sadda Haq’s Harshita Gaur!
An elated Nia Sharma told a national daily, “It’s crazy to call
myself as the sexiest woman. I’m like wow; this is cool. Looking at the
past years, I was expecting 5th or 6th position. But standing on the 3rd
position was totally unexpected. I held a chat session also on Twitter
with my fans on the occasion and it was totally celebration out there. I
would thank all my fans for this special moment.I also feel that people
should really know about this achievement because it’s not a small
thing to be featured in top 3 Sexiest Women. Drashti Dhami and Sanaya
Irani have also been in the top list. We all owe to the crazy fan
following.”
This not the first time when TV actresses have given a damn defeat to
their Bollywood contemporaries. Madhubala fame Drashti Dhami was the
first ever TV actress to crack the top 3 in 2014. We don’t know how will
some of our Bollywood beauties react to this but this is definitely a
signal that TV actresses are contributing equally to Global warming
