5 hairy Bollywood actors of the 90s who took male grooming seriously
Disclaimer: There are chances you might be grossed out a little bit.
Disclaimer: There are chances you might be grossed
out a little bit. I’ll try my best to not be as nasty as I can. The 90s
was one of the most vibrant eras of Indian cinema. Though when you see
those movies now, you feel a sense of shame with all the misogyny and
sexism in the movies back then. To top it all, we actually enjoyed those
movies once upon a time. Obviously when you watch movies like Haseena
Maan Jayegi, Khalnayak, Karan Arjun and even Suryavansham for that
matter, got away with all the sexism in their movies. Adding to the fact
that the actors were completely in the dark about feminism, they were
also unaware of something called ‘grooming’.
We’re not just talking about women here. Thankfully, all the male actors (okay most of them) realised how grooming can change them from looking like an ape to looking like the hot shirtless actors they are now. There’s another reason for Salman Khan to take off his shirt and walk around flaunting his abs and clean chest. When you look at an Akshay Kumar in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi and when you look at him in Desi Boyz, you can’t help but thank whoever pushed him to focus on getting a better hairstyle and chest so clean that the abs look even better. Bollywood has come a long way and actors are paying more attention to male grooming. It’s not considered less masculine anymore for men to wax their chest or use products to enhance their looks.
Here’s a list of 5 actors who did a huge favour on us and took grooming seriously! (P.S. Anil Kapoor not included)
Akshay Kumar
Do not get me started on how ridiculously monkey-ish this handsome and desirable Khiladi used to look. On top of that, he had some very steamy scenes with Rekha in Khiladiyon Ke Khiladi. The 49-year-old actor looks hot AF now thanks to his craze for fitness.
Salman Khan
Yes, Bhai even looked like the goon he was back in the 90s. Thank God for his obsession with taking off his T-Shirt every time that made him take grooming seriously.
Aamir Khan
Before Ghajini happened, the perfectionist, too, had chest hair which he got rid for good.
Sanjay Dutt
So Munna Bhai, in his Khalnayak days, was in dire need of a makeover and a male grooming expert. We don’t know when and how he found one but we’re happy that he did.
Suniel Shetty
The picture says it all!
It’s not just about looks but men need to take grooming seriously for hygienic purposes too. New age actors like Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Tiger Shroff, Shahid Kapoor and many more are breaking stereotypes giving themselves more importance!
