Sidharth Malhotra fails to beat Varun Dhawan once again as a solo hero!

Sidharth Malhotra fails to beat Varun Dhawan once again as a solo hero!

Sidharth Malhotra's Baar Baar Dekho's below par collections over the weekend ruins his chances of becoming a successful solo lead hero like Varun Dhawan.

Sidharth Malhotra fails to beat Varun Dhawan once again as a solo hero!

Student Of The Year gave the industry three immensely talented individuals. While Alia Bhatt is perhaps the best in the lot, Varun Dhawan has proved that he knows how not to take a wrong turn at the box office. All his films have been successful including Dilwale despite its bad numbers because it was a Shah Rukh Khan film and expectations from his film multiply the moment he steps into it. As for Sidharth Malhotra, the actor’s good looks have taken him really far with some good films in his kitty. But as a solo lead, the actor’s yet see big success and with Baar Baar Dekho‘s lacklustre collection, he again failed to match up to Varun who has given mostly solo hits apart from Dilwale and Dishoom.

After their debut together, which was a success, Sidharth starred in Hasee Toh Phasee with Parineeti Chopra. It did average business at the box office and earned 35. 5 crore. Post that he has only been seen in films where he was ably supported by someone whose histrionics was well tested. Ek Villain was as much a Sidharth film as it was of Riteish Deshmukh. In fact, people couldn’t stop raving about the comic actor’s villainous turn. Later, he came with Brothers starring Akshay Kumar alongside him which saw a great opening weekend but failed to manage much after that. It did an average business at the box office. Kapoor & Sons was however a hit but it has much to do with its coming of age content and Fawad Khan’s sincere portrayal. Sidharth won many accolades for his performance as well but he didn’t shoulder the film alone. Baar Baar Dekho was his solo release after two years but the way the film is earning, it won’t be his profitable film at all. So yet again he failed to deliver as a solo hero.
As for Varun Dhawan, since Student Of Year, he hasn’t seen a flop yet. Dilwale may have underperformed but it wasn’t a failure at the box office. And in that film he had Shah Rukh Khan to pull the crowd apart from his own charms. But his solo releases Humpty sharma Ki Dulhania, Badlapur, Main Tera Hero, ABCD 2 were hits before Dilwale happened. He had already proved his mettle as a solo lead. Recently, Dishoom too did a fairly decent job at the box office.

It is apparent from this that Sidharth Malhotra has again failed to prove himself as a bankable solo lead like Varun Dhawan who is just getting stronger with every film.
