TV celebs react to MNS’s demand to ban Pakistani artists in India

Karan Patel, Zian Imam, Kamya Punjabi and Remo D'Souza react to the MNS's demand to ban Pakistani artists in India.

The recent Uri attacks has left the country quite shaken and angry. So much that MNS had asked all the Pakistani actors in India like Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Imran Abbas Naqvi, Ali Zafar and many others to leave the country within 48 hours. And not just the MNS, but a lot of common people are supporting this and asking the Pakistani actors to go back to their country. People have been insensitively linking the actors to terrorism. Even Karan Johar faced a lot of flak on social media for casting Fawad Khan in not onebut two movies, of which one hasn’t even been released yet.
No prominent Bollywood star has yet commented on the issue yet or come out in support of these actors but our TV celebs have no hesitation whatsoever in speaking their mind. Kamya Punjabi, Remo D’Souza, Zain Imam and Karan Patel spoke to us about their view on banning Pakistani artists to work in our country. Here’s what the actors had to say!

Kamya Punjabi from Shakti-Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki: I am an artiste and I can understand how fellow artiste from Pakistan feel whenever there is a ban. However, at the same time I am a mother. I remember how scared I was to send my daughter to school post the terror attacks. And there are so many mothers who are in mourning. Given the current situation I feel whatever is needed to send out a message to Pakistan should be done. Ek hadd hoti hai. We have extended the olive branch time and again. There can be no aman if two are not in unison.

Remo D’Souza, a choreographer: I am not a political person. An artiste is an artiste everywhere. I dont believe in all this

Zain Imam from Tashan-e-Ishq: I think banning Pakistani actors will not solve such issues. They need to realise the actual root cause. It’s pointless to target the shows or actors in the country. So what happened to kabir khan in pak should not be repeated here in india.a nd protests need to stop

Karan Patel from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein: I don’t know what to say. The point is people should send a strong message on the political level. They need to be strong and stern. If problems are happening at the border, let the Indian Government send out a message out there itself. Banning films and artists is futile. As an actor, I feel disheartened that it is a fellow actor from a different industry who has to face the flak every time. Films and TV are a form of entertainment and bring relief to masses. They help people forget their day to day woes for some time.
