Raees vs Kaabil clash: What happened when Shah Rukh Khan met Hrithik Roshan behind closed doors?

Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil will definitely clash at the box office but it seems the damage won't be severe. Here's what we have heard.

Raees vs Kaabil clash: What happened when Shah Rukh Khan met Hrithik Roshan behind closed doors?

Republic Day next year will be big for Bollywood as Shah Rukh Khan‘s Raees will take on Hrithik Roshan‘s Kaabil. The stage is set as no one looks interested in budging from the spot. Clashes are very difficult to ignore these days. There are too many films getting made and only a handful of Fridays. Plus, superstars believe in extended holiday weekends to score more at the box office. Hence, it has become obvious to see big films colliding at the box office. Raees itself got shifted from Eid this year to January next year so that it gets a fair chance at ticket windows. Unfortunately while it missed the big fight with Salman Khan‘s Sultan, a clash couldn’t be averted. SRK will now take on Hrithik at the box office. Now we hear some consensus has been reached between the two. No, nobody is shifting their release dates. It’s something you may not have heard before.
Remember the day when Shah Rukh Khan had gone to meet Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik at their residence? We brought you the pictures from the same. You must have wondered what that meeting yielded nothing as not only are they clashing next January, but also on Christmas 2018 with Krrish 4 and Aanand L Rai’s film. Later, Rakesh Roshan did say that he will move Krrish 4 from the spot for SRK since the latter announced it first. But according to our source, the meeting was fruitful in coming to a conclusion as to how can two films of such big proportions can co-exist at the box office. Our source revealed, “People might think that this clash will affect both severely but SRK and Hrithik have brokered a deal which will minimise the losses manifold. They have divided the screens among themselves in such a way that none of them is adversely affected. Even the territories have been worked on.”

When we had spoken to our Trade expert Amul Mohan, Editor Super Cinema, at a time when the clash was first announced, he had revealed, “As far as I know I don’t think Kaabil is going to move from the spot. That’s because they have sold a few territories. It’s already in place to show the film on a particular date. In an ideal world, Shah Rukh Khan would want a solo release. But I don’t think it will be the case this time. Let’s see what happens. It’s not in the hands of Hrithik Roshan right now. If something can be arranged mutually, it will be beneficial for both the films.” He clearly hints that the only way out is to get into a mutual agreement and guess that’s what happened behind closed doors that day.
You are aware that Ajay Devgn’s Badshaho too was part of this clash but it bowed out later. We told you that about 200-250 cr is riding on these films and such a clash can be really detrimental. But now with Shah Rukh and Hrithik finding a way out, will the scenario be different? Only time will tell!
