Katrina Kaif not a part of Akshay Kumar-Karan Johar’s Kesari

Akshay Kumar will be soon seen in the anticipated film Kesari, which is based on Battle of Saragarhi. The movie is being produced by Akshay with Karan Johar acting as co-producer. As it happens always in case of a new project, rumour mill is again churning out all the possible names as the female lead. There are a few reports that suggest Parineeti Chopra has been roped in. Earlier in the day, new reports speculated that Katrina Kaif will be joining the cast instead. The buzz was fueled by the fact that over the weekend Katrina and Akshay had reunited after 7 years for an event. The pictures of them chatting up with each other had sent internet in a meltdown. But when we contacted Katrina’s team regarding her involvement with Kesari, we got a dissenting response. Putting an end to the speculation Katrina’s spokesperson clarified, “The reports are completely untrue. Katrina Kaif has not been offered the film.”
Kesari is the same project that was announced, earlier, as a joint production venture between Salman Khan and Karan Johar. But later, Salman disassociated himself from the project on the insistence of good friend, Ajay Devgn, who also is making a film on the same topic. It only makes sense that Katrina stays away from this controversial project involving her close friends.
Katrina Kaif’s last release was Anurag Basu’s directorial venture Jagga Jasoos. As of now, she has three big projects in her kitty. She stars in Aanand L Rai’s next film which will reunite her with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma on screen. Then she has just wrapped up shooting for Tiger Zinda Hai with Salman Khan. It is a direct sequel to her hit 2012 film Ek Tha Tiger. And finally she has another YRF project titled Thugs of Hindostan. She stars alongside Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh in this pirate-adventure film.
While fans would kill to see Akshay and Katrina in the same frame once again, seems like the day is not close yet. But we are going to keep hoping for the best.
