Tannishtha Chatterjee is doing this for PUBLICITY – Comedy Nights Bachao host Krushna Abhishek LASHES OUT! Tannishta Chatterjee’s open letter over being ridiculed on the sets of Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza has definitely got everyone talking. She not only went to bash the show for their insensitive concept but even went on to explain saying, “And this was an entirely novel understanding of roast that equates itself with bullying. And to my utmost horror, I soon realized that the only quality they found worth roasting about in me was my skin tone. It began with “ aap ko jamun bahut pasand hoga zaroor… kitna jamun khaya aapne bachpan se?” And went on in that direction… the only thing they could roast about a dark-skinned actress was of course her dark skin. They could identify me only with that.” Soon Colors channel took notice of this and even apoligised to Tannishtaa by issuing a lengthy public apology that said, “It is very unfortunate that what you had expected to be fun and novel experience has turned out to be traumatic for you. Please accept our apologies for any hurt that was unwittingly caused.” They also assured her that the content of Comedy Nights Bachao will be free from anything that could be offensive. Colors told the actress that they have taken this issue up with the production team and makers of the show and will ensure that the vision of the channel is maintained through the content. Here’s the apology letter/tweet. However, looks like Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza host Krushna Abhishek is NOT a bit apologetic about the whole issue. Yes!
Sticking to the show’s ‘roast’ format, an angry Krushna lashed out at Tannishta in this recent DNA interview saying, “Tannishtha is going overboard. She is doing this for publicity. We always meet the actors before they come on the show. I had asked her if she had seen the show before and if she was familiar with our (roast) concept. She said she hadn’t seen the show. She hadn’t watched even AIB Roast. If she didn’t know what it was, she shouldn’t have come on the show. Secondly, we gave more importance to Radhika Apte who is a bigger star. That must have also been a problem for Tannishtha.”
