Amitabh Bachchan’s Aankhen 2 is on track, claims producer Gaurang Doshi!

Amitabh Bachchan's Aankhen 2 producer Gaurang Doshi reveals that the film was never stalled and is on the right track after reports had emerged that the film's making rights were with someone else..

   

 

The film had run into controversy recently…

A few days back, it was widely reported that a court case has been filed against the makers of Aankhen 2 including director Anees Bazmee and producer Gaurang Doshi. Reports even stated that legal notices were sent to actors Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and a few others after another producer Rajeev Rajtaru claimed that he had the official rights for making the film. We even heard that Rajeev had issued a Contempt of Court order against producer Gaurang Doshi for illegally announcing their film, Aankhen 2. Rajeev even applied for a stay order on the film. However, looks like all these claims were false!
According to Mumbai Mirror, a hearing took place on September 14, where all claims for a stay order on Aankhen 2 were denied to Rajtaru Studios (Rajeev’s company). Gaurang’s lawyer Bobby Malhotra also alleged that Rajtaru Studios were operating in a fraudulent manner. In fact, he revealed that the court order that Rajeev had sent, was only a Show Cause notice and the producer had misled everyone.

Gaurang Doshi also revealed to the tabloid that he never sold the rights for the remake or sequel of Aankhen. In facr, he entered a Joint Venture (JV) with Rajtaru Studios a few years back. But when Aankhen 2 did not take off even after a year, he terminated their agreement in 2012. As of today, all the copyrights and IPR for Aankhen 2 are with Gaurang Doshi.  According to Doshi and his lawyer, Rajtaru Studios are apparently out of the picture. Gaurang further mentions that the film has not stalled and will be completed on time, when he mentioned to the tabloid, “My film is on track, it was never stalled and there is no reason for anyone to put a stay order on it.”
His lawyer further added, “Firstly, there is no contempt of court order against my client, Gaurang Doshi. There is only a show cause notice issued by the Bombay High Court, which my client shall be replying to. Secondly, there have been no legal notices sent to Amitabh Bachchan or Anil Kapoor, to the best of my knowledge. Thirdly, Rajtaru claims that my client, Gaurang Doshi, was a part of the discussion in court on August 9, 2016 where he said that he had nothing to do with Aankhen 2 is also absolutely false because the matter was not even heard in Court on August 9. These court records and orders clearly reveal the falsehood in Rajeev Rajtaru’s statements.”
