The new season of the show will be launched on his b’day next month…

It has been nearly two years since we saw Amitabh Bachchan hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati on television. The popular quiz show was a must watch for everyone at home, but after two years passing by, everyone are eager to see the show once again. The ninth edition of the game show – Kaun Banega Crorepati will be hosted by Amitabh Bachchan again and will be launched on his birthday next month. Ain’t that a good news?

Confirms a source close to the development, “KBC 9 will be launched at a grand media event on Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday, October 11. Post-KBC 8 in 2014, AB Sr got busy with his film projects – Shamitabh, Piku, Wazir and then, debuted in a fictional drama, Yudh, leaving him no time to shoot for the show in 2015 and most of 2016.”

A massive hit with audiences, the show hosted by Bachchan broke several TRP records and won major awards, pushing the channel’s hand in bringing the show back this year. In fact, says a source, “While the concept and format will remain same as the earlier episodes, KBC 9 may undergo certain changes in the look and feel of the show. It will definitely be on a grander scale and the prize money will be much more than 2015’s Rs 7 crore.” However, when we contacted, the show’s producer-director Siddhartha Basu, he said, “There is no truth to it at all.”

So will Amitabh Bachchan make a come back with Kaun Banega Crorepati 9? We sure hope he does! It would be the best return gift by the actor ever! In the meanwhile, Amitabh prepares for the release of his next – Pink this week. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film is a court room drama where the actor plays a lawyer! The film also stars Tapasee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang. It will clash with Emraan Hashmi’s Raaz Reboot, which will be the final film of the popular horror franchise. Though the two films will collide, they are quite different and hence neither of them will be affected.
