The actor is shooting for his next in Varanasi…

Akshay Kumar has had the best year of his career yet. Not only has all three of his films (Airlift, Housefull 3, Rustom) done well at the box office, each one of them has earned more than 100 crore! But that’s not it… He has out performed the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and even Salman Khan this year (Akshay’s cumulative box office tally is higher than them). With such an amazing year, Akshay must be in a really good mood, right?
Well, you can see the happiness on his face while he shoots for his next – Jolly LLB 2 too. The actor had already shot for a couple of days earlier this year, but post Rustom, Akshay has started shooting for Jolly LLB 2 full time. He first flew to Lucknow where he shot for a week. He then made his way to Varanasi a couple of days back and we see him having a lot of fun in the UP city. In fact, not just fun, the actor even played a game of cricket with a few locals and his crew during a shooting break yesterday. Ain’t that cool? Dressed in an reddish orange and blue jeans, Khiladi Kumar even met with a few people, before shooting for a few crucial scenes! We even saw him sporting a moustache too…

The sequel to the HIT film – Jolly LLB will be very different from the first one. Though it will be a hilarious court room drama, there will be an interesting twist in this film. The actors have changed too. The first film had Arshad Warsi play the titular role, while the second part will see Akshay Kumar take his place. A lot of controversy had followed this casting change as Arshad Warsi cried foul. In an interview, he had revealed, “I was supposed to do Jolly LLB 2, but Fox Star Studios needed a bigger star, so they chose Akshay. It makes it easier for marketing, it makes it easier to have a hit. With me, you (the filmmakers) have to make a good film, so that is the problem. You can make money with me only if it’s a very good film. If you have a bigger star, then even if the film is not that good, you still manage to cover the money so risk factor from the producer’s point of view is less.”

Reports even suggest that Akshay Kumar is being paid Rs 1 crore per day for this film. If this is true, the budget of the film will be very high and considerably more than the prequel. Will it be able to earn that amount of money back? Akshay Kumar’s last few releases were made on moderate budgets and all of them made good profits, so we can expect Jolly LLB 2 to make a good amount of profit too!
