Sonakshi Sinha opens up about stepping into the shoes of a journalist and reading disturbing stories about herself at the Noor trailer launch – watch video
7 surprising revelations made by Sonakshi Sinha during the Noor trailer launch...
Sonakshi Sinha launched the trailer of her upcoming movie, Noor,
today and we have to say it seems really interesting. The actress plays
the role of a journalist who is on a mission to uncover real life
stories about people in Mumbai. However,
she is stuck covering the entertainment beat and ends up hating her
life. How a few incidents change her life makes up the rest of the
movie. Doesn’t that sound interesting? Well once the trailer was
launched, everyone cheered for the actress, who mentioned how difficult
it was to play the part. Apart from that, she also spoke about stepping
into the shoes of a journalist, reading disturbing news about herself,
the Gurmehar Kaur controversy and much more. Read all the details on
what she said at the Noor trailer launch right here:
# Sonakshi’s take on the disturbing stories published about her
I think it is part and parcel of the industry we are in. It’s okay, whatever happens, happens for the good. You have to have the strength to move on from all of it. But nothing so serious. There is a time in Noor’s life when she realises that she hasn’t been responsible enough and tries to correct it. I think it is a very beautiful, coming-of-age story. Everyone here must have gone through a point in life that proved to be the game changer. I think that you will relate to it and not write such stories again.
# On the Gurmehar Kaur controversy
I won’t react here, when the time is right, I’ll react. Today, let’s talk about Noor.
# Has she realised anything about journalists after playing Noor?
I knew a lot of things already, but while playing the role, I realised you guys have to do ‘all this’ too. For example, you guys come and wait for so long for an event to start. Similarly, you must have seen a glimpse that I had to wait for Sunny Leone’s outside her van in the rain for hours.
# On answering odd questions
Anyone can ask anything, when you walk around, fans also ask some strange questions. I think it is all in the profession. You are doing your job, I am doing mine. To answer or not, is my prerogative. I’ve always respected you all and I’ll even more after this movie. I’ll try to give an answer to all your questions.
# Would a bigger star help Noor make a bigger impact?
Not at all. This movie needed new, fresh and real people. I had not meet Kanan Gill and Shibani Dandekar before the shoot, but we play the best of the friends and I guess no one else could have done this part better.
# On Holi
It is my favourite festival, but over the past few years I have not been able to play as I have been shooting. But whenever I play, I play like crazy. But this year also I won’t be able to play as I’ll be shooting for Ittefaq.
# Has women empowerment helped bring about a revolution in Bollywood?
I think it is nothing to be stunned now and I guess such questions also should be asked less. Each film we do, you can’t ask that you don’t have an actor, how will you promote it? We are doing it. We are making films. What is that thing that women cannot do today? So we will make a film and promote it too. And we will do a lot of other things too. There are wonderful characters being written around women protagonists in Bollywood and I am happy about it. I thank producers who make films like Noor.
